For the last few years I have contemplated lipo....

For the last few years I have contemplated lipo. I've always been relatively small and tend to gain weight in my butt and thigh area. After having my daughter by c section 3 and a half years ago I noticed my midsection was becoming a bit harder to maintain. Recently with full time school and 55 to 60 hour work weeks I decided cool sculpting with its "no downtime" would be best for me.
I got my lower abdomen treated with a large applicator ans my upper abdomen treated with two small applicators. When the applicators go on its is uncomfortable and it hurts for about 5 minutes. Again uncomfortable and hurts, however it is tolerable. After 5 minutes passed there was just uncomfortable suction but I was relaxed. I worked and watch Netflix. The next phase of pain was when the applicator was removed. It was a burning sensation. That I've been outside playing in the snow and I decide to come in the house and put my hands and feet in warm water burn. This lasted anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes. The smaller applicators on my upper abdomen were not as bad, but still the same sensations. I bruised almost immediately. My skin is almost the shade of a graham cracker....yea that's about right. Lol I say that because they told me I probably wouldn't bruise due to my complexion. Wrong.
So let's talk recovery... today is day 7. Yesterday was the worst by far. From day 1 on I have been in pain. Sore, mild burning, throbbing and little zaps of pain. I don't know if mild discomfort is the way to describe it. It is pretty much just plain old discomfort. Night 5 is when it became bad. I ran around the house looking for Tylenol at 10:00 pm. We use Aleve in my house, but some advise against it after this procedure. I decided to try and avoid it. With no luck finding Tylenol I took to bed uncomfortable and in pain. Not a great nights sleep.
The following day (6) I went out and got extra strength Tylenol. Waste. It did nothing. Now the pain had gradually been getting worse and I decided to call the doc and ask for some advise. I was prescribed Lidocaine patches and percs. There was no way I was taking percs with my schedule so I decided to suffer until I got home that night. That is when the awful sharp shooting pains began. Enough to make me jerk out of my chair. I took a shower and applied the lidocaine patches. While they took the edge off, I was still in pain. I had trouble both going to sleep and staying alseep.
Today is day 7. I woke up in pain, but not the same pain from last night. I continue to have sharp pains that become worse when I am resting or relaxed. My lower abdomen and around my belly button is the worst. Painful but tolerable.
When I walk to hard or step down there is this weird uncomfortable jiggle that causes me to put pressure on my stomach to make it stop. My tummy is soft and have not experienced the itching I have read about.
My hope is that the pain begins to subside as I am about fed up with it at this point. I almost feel like lipo would have been a better choice.
I still have flanks and back left to do next Tuesday and from what I have read they are not as difficult to recover from as the abdomen, but I guess we shall see.
Bottom line is doctors run around and say that a small percentage of patients experience mild discomfort. Let us be clear, from what I have read it is the other way around. A small percentage of patients will experience no pain or discomfort.
Is it worth it? I have yet to see. I hope someone can get something from my post. It isnt something I do often, but felt I should weigh in on this one.

Day 9
Well that was difficultFebruary 20, 2016
It is 2 a.m. on day 9 and last night was the absolute worst. The Lidocaine patches continue to fail me and I spoke to my doctor yesterday who wanted me to come in for a check up, but unfortunately I could not pull myself away from a major emergency meeting we were having. I will go see him first thing Monday. I went out for dinner and had two drinks and I felt awesome right up until the affects of the drink wore off. After that I was miserable, a horrible burning sensation and stabbing pains which seem to get worse in the evening. Right now it burns even more when something is laying on my skin. My doctor did advise me to take one Aleve twice a day and while I was a bit apprehensive at first I decided I just could not stand it anymore and took one about 10 minutes ago. I was just so sure the pain would have subsided by now. Today is my birthday and in pain was certainly not how I had planned to spend it. The pain makes it hard to focus which has resulted in me not staying up each night to complete my school assignments. Today I really needed the pain to begin subsiding. Really hoping this gets better. This sounds really bad but at this point I don't care about results I just want the pain to stop.

Day 11
Well that was difficultFebruary 23, 2016
Okay so on the evening of day 9 I finally tried the ice packs everyone keeps suggesting. First night I slept. I did wake up a few times but overall the ice was soothing and relaxing. Why in the heck didn't I try that sooner? Yesterday (day 10) I did a little better. Constant burning sensation all over my abdominal area and I could not stand for anything to touch me, still painful but better than what I experienced the past few days.
Today is day 11 and gosh do I feel better. The pain is not gone entirely but the constant pain is traumatic memory. Some burning throughout the day, still numb and still sore, but it was a good day compared to the last few I've had. I saw my doc this morning he said everything looks good and was understanding of what I had been through the last few days. He said he has seen it happen before it just isn't common. He prescribed me neurotin (sp) and pain pills, but I don't think I need it at this point. I was scheduled to get my flanks and back done tomorrow but we cancelled that until I feel a little better physically. Honestly I am physically drained and still experiencing pain. I am a bit apprehensive about getting anything else done and may split the flank and back procedure up rather than risk pain at both sites. He asked if we had scheduled two abdominal sessions and I told him we had not and if we had it would never happen. I honestly would never dream of putting that machine on my stomach again. However I am nutty enough to try it on my flanks. Sigh Kind of sick. Lol
The pain gets worse at night and I have had some zaps of pain and cramping this evening and trying to avoid any clothing that sits at the lower waist and hip bone, even super soft pj pants make the area burn. I feel relieved and look forward to feeling even better tomorrow.
Notes:
Aleve was not helpful
Ice packs very helpful
If you are experiencing pain breathe, just breathe
This is nerve pain
I never cried but thought if I did maybe I would feel better lol
I did feel sick to my stomach with pain on day 9 and 10 not much food consumption
Warm showers aggravated the area
Warm baths where my touch wasn't submerged was relaxing, but it was more psychological than physical
