I had a doctors appointment today and he said everything looked good. I don't go back again until October. Attached are pics of scaring. Overall I'm very happy with my decision and I'm very happy with the look and feel of the ideal implant.

I get my Ideal implants on Tuesday. I'm happy to see how well you are doing. I have a trip planned at my own week 7 point and I hope to be looking as good and feeling as good as you.

5+ Weeks Post Op

melmcdaniel07
I'm so behind on updating my progress! I was hoping I'd at least get through 2 weeks of post op pics. It's late right now so I just figured I'd update my progress and then post some pics on Thursday after my 6 week post op appointment. Overall I'm doing great. I've started working out again and pretty much doing whatever I want. I was only about 2 weeks out when my doctor said I could pretty much do whatever I wanted (as long as I felt up to it). I started back to my normal cardio on week 3. Granted, I wasn't giving it what I normally do but I was doing it. Since then I've gone wake surfing and did my boot camp style class at the gym and was able to do pretty much everything. I did have someone cleaning the house for me for a few weeks but I'm back at that also now. In terms of size, I feel really happy with what I got. There are moments where I see myself in clothes and think maybe I could have gone a tad bigger but overall I'm not unhappy with where I am. I went to Victoria Secret and there I am a 34D or 32DD (which they say is a sister size). I was a little disappointed that I felt like I couldn't really find any bras there that I loved. I tried a ton on and either they didn't fit me good or I didn't really feel like they were very cute. I ended up giving target a try and I LOVE all the ones I got. I got a few that were target brand and a few that were Maidenform ( I think, I'll have to double check). I used cartwheel and got like 6 bras for under $70. My scars are healing really nicely... much better then I'd expected. I got some Maderma but I've only used it once so I can't really say if it's working. In terms of my implant and how it feels I am starting to feel like I have "normal boobs"... at first it was really hard to imagine them feeling normal but they do. Or at least a new normal. I do feel the implant at the bottom which is a little odd but I'm getting used to it. I had heard so many bad things about Saline implants but I've been very happy with mine, of course the ideal implant could be the main reason behind that. I did have an OBGYN appointment 2 weeks ago and when she did my breast exam she said that implants actually kinda help because it pushes all the breast tissue up which makes it a little easier to feel any potential issues. So that was encouraging. I think I've rambled enough so I'll post again on Thursday after I see the doctor and try and get some final pics up.

I am considering Ideal implants as the only thing I am comfortable with is Saline. Thank-you for your feedback!! Since you have had them have you experienced any rippling, and I also heard that Saline implants can give you the sensation of ' sloshing' around. Do you feel the saline moving around? Any advice/tips/ suggestions to give someone that is seriously considering Ideal Implants? I have a consult with at the end of this month for Ideal implants! Anything you wish you had asked your surgeon but did not?

Hi... I'm glad my experience is helping make your decision. I haven't had any issues with any rippling. I will say that when I feel the bottom of my breast I can feel the implant and I wouldn't consider it to be smooth. However, my breast looks completely normal and from the pics I've taken of the scar it looks like the bottom is completely normal looking also. I'll try and take a pic from every angle when I do my update on Thursday. I terms of "sloshing"... I'd say that right after I first got them everything felt really weird and I did feel like I'd move and could feel the liquid. I'm not sure if it's because I'm just getting more used to it, or if things are "settling" but I am really at a point where I forgot they aren't real. For the most part they feel very natural. I'm not sure I can think of anything specific to ask. My only advice is do whatever you feel really comfortable with. I personally wasn't going to consider an implant with anything but saline. So, when I found out that the ideal seemed to offer the best of both worlds I was excited. I think the only thing I was a little concerned about is that they really don't have an idea of the life of the ideal implant. You might want to check with your surgeon and see if they have any idea on that. I'll post my pics on Thursday but please let me know if you have any other questions or just need someone to talk to. I felt a little confused/overwhelmed by this process so I understand where your coming from. Good Luck!

Thank-you SO SO much for getting back to me. I am older; 43 years old with one child; 5'2 and 115lbs. I literally have little to no breast tissue ( 34AA) and I am considering implants just to give me some type of feminine shape. The only implant I would consider if I move forward at all with it is Saline as well. The Ideal implant is the only thing I would consider and I think the new design of this Saline implant makes it that much more appealing. I am happy that you are pleased with them so far, and are not feeling the 'sloshing' around which I read is quite common with Saline. I am assuming it is because of the design ( baffles etc of Ideal ) that prevent this feeling as much. I too was very excited when I had heard about Ideal implants. In terms of longevity; I have not read or heard anything either. I guess with Saline it really depends on whether a rupture occurs and then one is forced to get it replaced. No implant is for a lifetime and most in general should/need to be replaced 9 so I have read 0 after about 10-15 years . I have no one to speak to about this decision really. My husband is supportive ( I think secretly he wishes I had more shape but he would never say ) as he has been EXTREMELY SUPPORTIVE in me moving forward should I decide. I started reading 'explant' stories on Real Self of women that have had their implants removed; and that is what is holding me back. There are so many stories of women who have said that since their implants they became sick, or fatigued etc. Now I am on the fence as to what I should do in light of reading all these testimonials. I am really only thinking of getting 225cc ( which I know is very small ) if anything; and then I wonder when I read other peoples stories is it worth it for that size; maybe I should just try to find a better bra? I am a runner and I just don't want them to get in the way. Anyhow, I am sorry for my rambling here; its just I am feeling a little bit on an island as to what to do; still doing lots of reading on ideal implants and trying to hear back from people like you that have move forward with them for your thoughts. Thanks again for getting back to me!

No problem! I'm glad sharing my experience helps. Ya, I was pretty small also. I'd say I had a B before my son and then after breastfeeding and a little bit of weight loss I had and A :(. The only thing I would suggest in terms of size is that you might want to go a little bigger then your thinking (if you haven't already make sure you try on sizes at your appointment and take some pics so you can look at them later). The only reason I suggest going bigger is because I've been very surprised how quickly I became very comfortable with them and have had moments where I think I wouldn't be upset if I had gone bigger. But of course that's a very personal decision and if you know you don't want a really large chest then stick with what your thinking. The only time I feel like I'm really "out there" is when I'm in a bathing suit but it wasn't anything I was ashamed of. I don't run but I work out on a regular basis and do things where I wouldn't want a large chest getting in the way. Because they implants are so perky they really don't move around (which is actually kinda weird). I've gotten some good sports bras and when I took my class I didn't even think about them- even when I was doing light jogging (but I'll be the first to admit I do not run as a primary way of working out). I'll be back soon with pics :)

Oh... and I did also read a lot of people's stories about explant but honestly I just had to stop... I'd made my decision and my personality is one that once I make my decision I just kinda go for it (not sure if that's all that smart, haha). I've actually had several people in my life that have had implants (both sis-in-laws) and friends of friends and I've yet to hear horror stories (although I totally realize that doesn't meant there aren't some bad situations). Do your research and feel good about it for yourself and try to put the other stuff out of your head. There are downsides to almost anything we do in life. But just my opinion :)
