I am 25 years old and I've had a history of skin...

I am 25 years old and I've had a history of skin problems, including severe acne and acne scarring. I had hoped that that would be the extent of my facial woes, but in the past couple of years I've also started developing 11s.

They're not always visible, but I can always feel the permanently contracted muscles under my skin and have been increasingly seeing them in my pictures. I tried hiding them with an Amazon-bought dermaroller and succeeded to an extent, but I wanted to try a longer term and less dermis-damaging option. Botox made the most sense to me since I wasn't suffering from volume loss in that area, just contracted frown muscles.

I received 20 units of Botox at $12/unit in my "corrugator" and "procerus" muscles and it was a totally painless procedure. Immediately after, I felt no change in the region and suffered no side effects, and so I was able to go back to work as usual. On day 2 I felt some tightness in that area and my skin peeled a bit, and now on day 4 I feel the tightness still, but it's only when I try to move those muscles. And yes, I can still frown, which was a nice surprise given the Botox stereotypes.

It may be my imagination, but I do think my brows sit a bit lower now. I normally don't have excess skin covering my eyes, though I did when I was in high school, and yet today I woke up with exactly that. I'll monitor them more over the next few days, but I guess this is the trade off for relaxing my tightened brow.

Overall I'd say it was definitely worth it and I recommend it to any other younger girl who is starting to develop 11s as well.
