I have finally had a rhinoplasty at 30 years old after decades of wanting one. I didn’t like my over projected profile, dorsal hump, or droopy tip. I wanted a nose with a cute slope and refined tip.
I spent years researching rhinoplasty, and came up with a list of priorities in this order: 1. Artistry 2. Experience 3. Availability of Before and After Photos 4. Bedside Manner 5. Location 6. Price
I wound up choosing Dr. Totonchi in Lyndhurst OH. His photo gallery and reviews demonstrated a flawless understanding of balance with existing features and natural-looking results even where the changes were dramatic. Also, he bases his plan on the patient’s wishes and concerns about their appearance, so his results are not cookie cutter. Regardless of the style chosen by each patient (whether natural, more straight, refined, curved, etc.) the results were incredible and matched the patients expectations in every review. I was only as confident about a few other surgeons in years of searching and those surgeons charged double or triple AND lived on the other side of the country. I ended up having to travel 6 hours for Totonchi but it was worth it to go to a surgeon I feel so strongly about.
My consultation fee was $65 and was credited to my surgery. It was a virtual consultation. As others said: Totonchi is polite and will spend time going over all of your questions. However, he is a man of few words. He will simply listen to your concerns about your appearance and your wishes. I was definitely pleased with his polite and professional bedside manner and I felt like he really listened and explained things to me. I have included a screenshot from my Pinterest board that we reviewed together before my surgery.
After my consultation, I scheduled my surgery for three weeks later. Intake was a breeze. Taylor was such a sweetheart and she discussed the process with me thoroughly. Michelle who took my pre op photos was so quick and professional and made taking the technical photos somehow fun and silly even at 6:30 am. The entire surgical team we’re sweet and professional, and they made me feel totally safe.
My surgical fee was $6,000. My facility and anesthesia fees were an additional $3,000. Billing was painless and Doreen was very helpful with handling this process.

3 Weeks Post

I am 3 weeks post op today.
Recovery went well. There were no complications. It wasn’t painful in my opinion but there was plenty of swelling. I thought the plastic tubes in the nose (stints) were super irritating and that was probably the most difficult part of recovery for me personally.
I got my stints out and splint off at my two week follow up. At that point, I was still super swollen. But as soon as I saw myself I cried happy tears! I was super happy with the shape and size immediately, and I knew it would continue to change over the next several months/year.
My nose has changed a lot already in that week. A lot of the swelling in my bridge and in the nasal tissues has receded. I can see the shape of nostrils and profile starting to be more defined. I like the way my nose sits, and I think the new size complements my face so well overall. I am breathing very well through both nostrils at this point. I still have some swollen nasal tissue and the tip of my nose is still slightly numb. It all seems to be healing normally, and I am thrilled with the results so far.
I expect the shape to continue to change a bit and become more refined as I continue to heal. I plan to make another post at 6 months.

Congratulations, looks lovely. Just wondering if your sense of smell had returned? I have my op in September so trying to find out as much as possible.

I am one year out from my surgery! And I think I’m very close to my final result. I think I have a very natural looking and well balanced result. Overall, I am very happy. I am finally able to shop for sunglasses and reading glasses that actually sit normally on my face. Snapchat filters actually work on my face now- not that I want to use them any more! I am so relieved. It feels like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders and I’m not carrying my huge insecurity on my face anymore. My only wish is that I had done it sooner.

I love your results, so symmetrically balanced and appealing. I was looking for a doctor in Cleveland and I think I've found him.

You look amazing. I did the same thing...finally had a nose job at 38 after decades of wanting one and my one regret is that I could not do it sooner. It makes a huge difference.
