My nose feels completely natural. There’s still some swelling in the tip, a bit more on one side then the other that I hope will continue to even out but I’m happy. The changes now are very subtle.

8 month update

It’s been eight months since my rhinoplasty. I no longer am surprised when I look in the mirror. My nose feels “real”, I can blow it, rub it or bump it gently and it feels normal. It is still tender it it gets smushed toward my face. I think it’s still a bit swollen in the bottom two thirds, probably in a way only I can notice. I wish it were slimmer at the base, I had wide nostrils to begin with ( Dr D even did an alar base reduction ) so I remind myself about the need for it to remain functional. The profile is perfect. Identical to my morphs. I’m still happy.

Adding my morphs

I didn’t like my morphs showing as my first photos on the site so I moved them here. I wish RealSelf would let me edit old posts but I can’t figure out how. That means I can’t rearrange photo order or correct spelling mistakes I don’t catch (darn you auto correct on my iphone). Anyway, three and a half months out and swelling seems to resolve slowly. I can touch my nose and even blow it occasionally. I’m still gentle with it but I can wash my face normally.

Everything looks great and you will still have sensitivity in the entire area for at least a year. It never bothered me, but I did notice it. Eventually your nose will seem like the natural nose and you won't think twice about touching it or blowing it. Be gentle, yes, but there is nothing to fear. You look terrific!

You got a great result. He seemed to reduce just the right that it improved your appearance while keeping your identity. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you! It’s funny how I don’t think some people noticed - my nose was a focal point in a bad way and now it just recedes nicely in proportion to everything else.

I’m so happy for you. I have similar issues from having a septoplasty (done in March 2017) which caused dents near the tip of my nose. I also have bulging in the area of the scroll. The doctor put spreader grafts in my nose which caused all of this. I had a second surgery in Nov 2017 to try to smooth the bulges. I paid $5,000 out of pocket to the same doctor, but it only helped minimally. I told him I was unhappy with the results and he wanted another $6000 to try to fix what he couldn’t fix in the last surgery. Never going back to that guy again. I’m devastated and embarrassed of my nose. I contacted Dr. Denenberg this summer and sent him pics of my nose. He sent me some morphs and said that he could help me, but right now I can’t afford it. He did an amazing job on your nose. I hope I’m as lucky if I ever get it done.
