Waited Thirty Years to Cut off my Horrid Nose!
WORTH IT$11,000
I have hated my nose since elementary school and remember deciding I’d have plastic surgery one day to change it. I just didn’t think it would take thirty years to go through with it! Here were the things I hated about my nose:
Too big overall
Too droopy at the tip - this got much worse as I got older - it almost touched my upper lip if I smiled. So, there aren’t many photos of me smiling.
Tons of projection.
Very long.
Pointy ball at tip and weird cartilage domes near the tip.
I just had surgery July 3rd so I’m very early in recovery. I’d give my profile a 10 out of 10 and I’m 7 out of 10 on my front view right now. My doctor says there’s lots of selling so I’m going the front view will refine a bit. The morphs and the afters are pretty accurate.

Before photos
Here are before photos to give an idea of what the surgeon was working with on my nose. It was a difficult nose and I knew that going into my operation. Right now, I feel like my profile is a one thousand percent improvement but my front view is neutral or maybe not quite as nice. That may be partially me adjusting, but I hope I come to like my front view as much as my new profile. It is a bit piggy right now.
Also, at day 14, my nose feels very swollen and tender to the touch. It hurts to wear glasses so I am wearing them to drive and holding them when I read. I taped them on Sunday but that isn’t practical at work. I’d really like to scrub my face but there is no way I could handle that. My incisions are healing nicely. I am not able to smile with an open mouth and laughing hurts.

Try not to wear glasses often. There is, however, a product on the market that eases pressure on the nose and you buy the item(s) as a set. They fit over the nose and are different sizes. It's called Norscan RhinoShield. There's a website -- check it out. The company is in the L.A. area. I bought the set and love the items. I try only to use glasses to drive at night now and I'm doing OK. You would probably like this item -- I have no relationship to the manufacturer; found them by searching the internet for something to use for eye glasses post-surgery.

Getting Used to it - praying it’s not crooked!
I am getting used to my new nose! I have stopped worrying that I look piggy, although it was an adjustment to go from a witches nose to an upturned one overnight. My nose still feels weird and it hurts a little, like weird pressure on the bridge of might right side. I’ve noticed there is sort of a weird line /bump there in flash photos so I’m praying it’s not going to heal crazy crooked. I am really not wanting to be one of the people that complains about a great nose job because of a minor imperfection. Still, I read about collapsing noses etc. and worry. I espescially worry because I wear glasses (I’m contact intolerant after about three hours) so I have to wear them to function. I e been taping them to my forehead a lot, and not wearing anything at home, but sometimes at work I have to wear them. My nose tip is still numb and stitches are still falling out. I try not to touch it and I’m still using cotton balls to clean it. My surgery was open and lasted five hours. I think (hope) im still quite swollen.

Compared to what nose you had, this one is really nice in my opinion. May I ask who was your surgeon?

Yes, more feminine - looks great. It will be a lot thinner but it can take a LONG time to lose swelling. Healing can take a full year, or longer. It looks so good now; you should be thrilled!
