I Had a Rhinoplasty at a Vanity Clinic with Dr Kadri Ila.
I had a rhinoplasty at a vanity clinic with dr Kadri Ila.
The whole experience has been very smooth. I arrived at an Istanbul airport, which was huge, and I couldn't see a pick-up driver. I called Azra, and she sorted out where my driver was in 5-10 minutes.
(When you go through the exit from the airport and walk towards exit 14, there are pick-up drivers).
I was taken to the Vanity Hospital straight after the airport, and my blood was taken. Then the driver took me to the Buem Hotel.
The hotel is excellent, with breakfast included. There are two supermarkets just around the corner and a pharmacy, so it's very handy. There is a fridge in the room, but no cutlery or spoons. I asked for an office chair since there was only a stool there.
The next day, I was taken to a Vanity hospital, a really modern building with security. The nurses were lovely, and Gizem, the coordinator who speaks perfect English, was there to assist.
I had a chat with Dr. Kadri Ila just before the surgery about my expectations, and he took my pictures. I wasn't too bothered if it was closed or opened surgery; I felt like the surgeon knew what he was doing. He speaks excellent English; we didn't need an interpreter.
The surgeon is a lovely, friendly guy and made me feel at ease.
After the surgery, one of the nurses told me about my irregular heart rhythm, which I have had all my life, but since it's not an illness, I didn't mention that before; they said I should have told them that. If you have the same, let them know.
Dr Kadri Ila came in briefly and said that everything went well.
The male nurse, who spoke perfect English, gave the pills to me and explained how to take them.
Later, nurses asked me if I wanted to stay overnight or go to the hotel, and I decided to return.
I was recovering at a hotel, and overall, it's been quite easygoing, apart from the 3rd day when all the swelling under my eyes was very visible.
One day before the departure, I was picked up by the vanity driver and taken to the hospital to see my surgeon. Again, he was a very charming, lovely man. He gave me tips on how to massage my nose and told me that swelling for some months is normal.
My initial reservations about the language barrier or some horror stories that one reads online were completely demolished by the whole experience.
Coordinators Azra and Gizem and the nurses were friendly and great. I would recommend dr Kadri Ila 100%.
It has been a very organised and perfect experience for me, so thank you very much!
