Nightmare Rhinoplasty with Dr. Scannell New England ENT

I had a cosmetic rhinoplasty with Dr. Scannell in late 2020. He made a mess of my nose. He removed too much leaving me with serious functional and cosmetic issues (internal/external valve collapse, alar retraction, open dorsal roof, deviated septum, overly deprojected, droopy tip, overly reduced base with bad scarring). He was not honest about what he would be doing during surgery. I wish he had opened my nose, realized he did not have the skill to help my nose, and just stitched me back up.
Both Dr. Scannell and his coordinator were demeaning and condescending when I brought up valid issues after surgery. He refused to give me a full explanation of what he did during surgery, I only know because of the operative notes and asking his coordinator for information. Once the major swelling went down, it became more pinched and collapsed. I consulted and flew out to meet with so many experts all over the US well versed in rhinoplasty. Dr. Scannell did several things that were just wrong. Techniques that are published as what not to do in the academic literature, techniques that were not right for my nose. These are irreversible maneuvers. I did not have breathing issues before surgery and no one should ever have these types of functional and aesthetic issues after a cosmetic rhinoplasty. He ignored my deviated septum and made it worse. I ended up having to have a reconstructive revision rhinoplasty using my own costal rib cartilage for the grafts that cost more than 20K.
His office never responded to my google reviews. Instead I had to beg for a refund, and they only agreed to refund the surgeon's fees. So it’s like I paid a few thousands to the surgical center to have Dr. Scannell practice poor surgical techniques on my nose. I think of Dr. Scannell everyday when I see the scars. Dr. Scannell and his team do not respond to any criticism and deny all issues. There was no apology, no explanation. I regret staying cheaper/local and using him and DO NOT recommend him for any facial surgery. Rhinoplasty is one of the most challenging facial surgeries and should be done by someone who has extensive experience (both with primaries and revisions) with updated surgical techniques. You only have one face and need to be extremely careful with who you let operate on it.
