Bulbous Nose Surgery in Istanbul

UPDATED FROM bvmbie

In recovery..

My surgery is over! It's day 2 post-op now. Not massively in pain or anything. The prescription pain medication I got helps a lot :) It's mostly just tight uncomfortable feeling, some dull pain and a bit of a stingy feeling. Sleeping is intermittent because I need to breathe through my mouth and my mouth gets so dry that I wake up often to drink water. There's no bleeding anymore just some clear liquid that comes out of nose sometimes. I mostly feel like I just have a cold with a stuffed and runny nose.

I'm staying at Volley hotel which is lovely. Room service is essential cause I don't feel that confident going out to get food. I've been to hotel breakfast every day and feel like people stare a lot, I mean I'm not the prettiest sight right now haha.

When it comes to my nose... I feel like it's very high and piggy right now. But I'm not too worried because most people seem to have the same experience and their noses turn out alright at the end. I do hope it goes down eventually. Can't wait to get my cast off and the stuff that's inside my nose? Not tampons but something hard and plastic like that seems to be attached to the inside of my nose with a stitch? I don't know what it's called. But I hope breathing will be better after it's all gone.

I've attached some photos and will keep taking them and posting here.

Hang in there girl. I'm scheduled to have surgery with Dr Mirza Firat on 2nd July..2 days from now!!! Its revision so hoping for success.

I'll be in your position in 2 days and to be honest after 4 or 5 days you'll be over the worst of it.

If you want to stay in touch let me know. Xx
Hey lovely, would you be so kind and post any updates about how you're healing?

Very curious about your doctor and wether your nose tip dropped at all because we have very similar noses xx
Now that you've had time to heal, how happy are you with your nose?

BOOKED FOR JUNE 2019

Finally booked with Dr. Bora Ok in Istanbul for late June 2019. Can't wait, I'm so excited. I'm travelling alone and I've never had any surgery before, so a bit nervous too. If anyone's going around the same time (or anytime), please message me!

UPDATED FROM bvmbie

Still looking for a doctor...

Researching doctors is such a process.. I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about. Thought I'd update you on how I'm doing.
I got so close to booking Dr. Bora Ok in Istanbul. He seems really honest, has a lot of good reviews and most importantly reviews that seem legit (I think I'm becoming an expert on recognising genuine reviews from fake ones haha). His assistant has been answering all my questions and also they have hotel packages which really helps as an international patient. The only draw back is that some of his results don't look that good to me. He seems to shorten the nose a lot and does that really high (piggy looking) tip sometimes. It's just not my aesthetic. I'm still considering him though, cause I'm sure I could explain what I wanted..
Others I'm considering are Dr. Suleyman Tas (Turkey), Dr. Omer Faik Sagun (Turkey), and Dr. Oelbrandt (Belgium). Does anyone have experience with these guys? I especially like Dr. Omer's work and I'm reading good things about him. I'm already messaging his assistant hoping to get a price quote.
I was originally planning to get surgery in April 2019 but I think I'm moving it to June. As impatient as I am, I don't think I should rush this, it's such an important decision.
I have attached more before pictures alongside edited wish-pictures. I know they're not totally realistic but I'm still using these to send to doctors to give an idea of what I hope for.

This review very helpful!
I would highly recommend Dr. Suleyman
Hi I know its probably not what you want to hear but you have a lovely nose. it has great definition and it is a nice size. I was telling my hairdresser today that i would give anything to have left my nose alone. It was projected a bit but it had great definition on the tip and it looked pretty from the front i was just not happy with the side view. I had no hump and a nice gentle slope. When my nose was deprojected my tip looked less defined and it made the tip of my nose look wider. I have now been researching revision doctors. you already have a pretty nose. Whatever you choose to to i wish you all the best.
Thanks, you might be the only person who's ever complimented my natural nose haha. I do acknowledge the chance that i’m gonna regret ever touching it. But at the same time it's something I think of every day. Like I can't ever feel pretty cause I’m just thinking of my ugly nose. I'd rather do something to change it than accept feeling bad about it. I’m sure you understand the way you felt before your first surgery. Good luck with finding a doctor! Hope you get what you wish for
You are def right. I felt the same as you before my first surgery. I always thought about my nose. Yours is a primary so you should a great outcome. I had my original surgery when I was 25. Years later I developed a tip bossae where there was a small bit of cartilage that was only on one side of my tip. I thought simple remove the bit of carriage. Well the doctor suggested I bring my nose closer to my face so my nostrils became a bit wider and I did not like it. I have since spoken to a surgeon who said when the nose is deprojected it may require the nostrils to be taken in a bit. So I am looking for the best surgeon. Not going to jump in without research. I may also get a lip lift. Thinking about Dr Mascaro I will be making an apt with him for a consult. I am from Canada. Have you thought about which doctor you will use?
I'm going for Dr. Bora Ok in Istanbul. Communication with him has been really good and I trust that he will listen to my wishes. I've also considered a lip lift! I've had some lip filler before but they don't do much for me since I have really inturned lips. It's just that the scarring seems quite major and possibly take a long time to heal. I can' really take a massive time off from school and work, so I'll see if I ever do that. Let me know if you find a good doctor :)
