Turkey is Not What I Thought It Would Be

I’m sharing my experience with Dr. Huseyin Balikci in hopes of helping others avoid what I went through. Unfortunately, my surgical journey has been extremely disappointing, both in terms of the process and the final outcome.
Before I even had a proper consultation, I was asked to pay the full surgical fee in CASH only. Btw thr deposit was paid to on offshore account before arriving in Turkey and was to be taken off the balance and nonrefundable under any circumstances. The consultation itself felt rushed — I was given little time to discuss my goals, ask questions, or feel truly heard. There was no clear breakdown of the procedure or discussion of risks, grafts, or expectations.
The hospital where the surgery took place was far below acceptable standards. It felt unsanitary and outdated. Most of the nursing staff didn’t speak English, which made it very difficult to communicate before and after surgery — a time when clear understanding is essential for comfort and safety. The anesthesia experience was poorly handled, and I felt extremely uneasy throughout.
Just a couple of weeks after surgery, myself and others began received messages asking me to leave positive reviews on RealSelf, Reddit, and Google — despite the fact that my healing had only just begun. I decided to wait until I was at least a couple years post op before writing this review, as such requests felt very inappropriate, especially given that my results were already raising concerns.
As for the outcome: my nose is now much larger and wider than before. The tip appears bulky and undefined, my columella is retracted, and I’ve lost all natural nasal contour. Even worse, I now suffer from serious breathing issues and what appears to be structural collapse — none of which were issues prior to surgery.
This experience has been physically, emotionally, and financially draining. I am now in the process of seeking a highly qualified revision specialist to correct the damage. Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend Dr. Balikci and urge others to do extensive research, prioritize both function and form, and avoid being rushed into early reviews or decisions.
