A Dream Come True!

WORTH IT
I am now over a year and 2 months out from my rhinoplasty. The experience has been life changing, and I am very satisfied in my choice - even though my results didn’t match exactly what I pictured (I’ll explain at the end).
Out of all the doctors I consulted with, Dr. Zimm was the one I felt that was most comfortable, realistic, and honest. He sticks to the more conservative side, so please keep that in mind in your search. His team was responsive through the entire journey, and when in the consulting phase I did not feel pressured to make a decision. Consults and procedure pricing was aligned to the area (at least compared to others I consulted with). Dr. Zimm was very transparent about how final results are never guaranteed to match any morph, due to the bodies natural healing which can alter results.
The procedure and recovery itself was smooth, and I really felt taken care of by the team. I did not experience much pain, and my nerves before the procedure were soothed by the team. On cast removal, I could see the results even through the swelling and was super excited for the final outcome. Also the cast removal was painless (I’ve heard of horror stories with painful cast removals). Dr. Zimm was ALWAYS super gentle with my nose. I had an open rhinoplasty, with a transcolumellar incision. My surgery did run a little bit longer, so it cost a little bit extra but this possibility was communicated to me beforehand.
I initially did not have much swelling due to thin skin, but over time, I did see the swelling reduce. About 11 months in a whiteish bump appeared at the tip on the right side, usually not visible except during very cold and dry weather. At my 1 year post op, it was confirmed to be cartilage appearing due to my naturally thin skin. It can be felt, but just feels like harder cartilage. When not super visible, it looks like just a natural highlight on the tip. As I guessed this just happened to be the way my body healed (esp. given the thin skin).
However, I am not bothered by this and am still in love with my final results. Dr. Zimm said it’s normal, and as I am not bothered right now totally okay to leave as is. He assured me down the line, I can revisit this and make adjustments if ever needed (incase there’s a drastic change as I age etc.). It’s very tricky to get a photo of, but I attached a photo from my facial. Even with this minor thing, I would have still chosen Dr. Zimm as he made sure 1) my nose looked natural still 2) my breathing is great!
This was a huge improvement to my face and quality of life, as it was something I had always wanted to do. I am so glad I chose Dr. Zimm, he is truly talented and cares about his patients. His entire team is great, and I am forever thankful!!
For my old nose specifically, it was extremely difficult to find before and afters of doctors work in NY/NJ/CT/surrounding areas. I attached photos of my 1 month, 3 month, and 1 year post op (plus the best photo I could get of the cartilage). The results speak for themselves. Again, I am over the moon with my results and can’t thank Dr. Zimm and his team enough for everything.
