Rhinoplasty for breathing issues, crooked nose & deviated septum
ORIGINAL POST
The Best Doctor for the Job
WORTH IT
I had suffered with breathing issues and a crooked nose since I was young. My deviated septum ran in the family, and everyone ended up with pretty bad sleep apnea. I decided to finally do something about it, and straighten my nose in the process.
I had gone in and out of talks with many surgeons over the years near me, mostly in LA. No matter how skilled they were, I didn’t click with any of them. I am Persian, and with that comes a specific nose. I don’t want a “Barbie” nose or a flat nose that doesn’t fit my face. The impression I got from all of the surgeons was that they wanted to “fix” my nose and make it ideal, but not my version of ideal.
When I messaged Dr. Inanli’s office, his assistant Yagmur answered right away and was so helpful. She spent a couple months working with me to schedule everything and make sure I would end up with a traditional nose that didn’t look fake, but also a straight nose that I could finally breathe through. I really owe her so much!
I met the doctor on the day of my surgery, which I was nervous about. I had to fly to Istanbul the day before, and was nervous about getting around with bandages on my face. The best piece of advice I can give you is to HAVE SOMEONE GO WITH YOU! My mother came with me, and it was lifesaving.
After speaking with Dr. Inanli, I felt very confident that he would respect my conservative wishes and give me the nose I desired. However, if you are someone who wants a more stylized nose, he seems very confident in doing that as well. What I appreciated the most was his respectfulness of the fact that I didn’t want a new looking face! I wanted to look like how I always should have. And that’s exactly what he gave me.
I truly don’t think I could’ve picked a better doctor! I know it’s such a hard decision, but I am so happy with my choice.
