Happy with the Outcome!

My rhinoplasty procedure was in early March; I am in the fourth month of my recovery period, and I could not be happier with the results so far. My nose was large and sort of crooked and I feel that both of those characteristics have been corrected by the surgery performed by Dr. Freeman. When I met with Dr. Freeman to discuss having surgery, he explained he would use a closed approach to my nose, and he told me the things that he felt were going on with my nose relative to my face. What he told me matched the things that I wanted changed about my nose and after going home, reading more reviews and doing a lot more research about what Dr. Freeman said, I scheduled the surgery. I had a pre-op meeting where my surgery was discussed with me, and I was given written instructions and a lot of details about what to expect and what to do leading up to the surgery and post-surgery. One thing that was stressed heavily was that the surgery has a lengthy healing process and while things would vastly improve from day to day and week to week, it would take up to a year for my nose to heal, and that I needed to follow the post-operative instructions.
The surgery itself went smoothly; on the day of the surgery, I met with Dr. Freeman’s team, and they went over all of the instructions and details again, and I also met with Dr. Freeman before going into the surgical suite. The facilities appeared to be exceptionally clean/sterile, and I felt very safe. My spouse was waiting for me after the surgery and the staff took me to the car in a wheelchair afterwards. At some point at home, I looked in the mirror and I looked pretty gnarly – LOL. After a week, I went back, and Dr. Freeman removed the splint and replaced it with tape; at that time he gave me a new set of at home care instructions to follow. A week later, I went back again and Dr. Freeman removed the nose tape (YAY!!) and gave me another set of instructions to follow. At that point, I could already tell that the results were a major improvement. I went back a month or so later to have my nose checked and received more care instructions to follow for a couple more months – and my next follow-up appointment is at the end of the summer. I could not be happier with the results of the surgery so far.
