Rhinoplasty Gone Wrong..
So I wanted to wait 10 years.. a decade to write this review to see if things did indeed got better and I was happy with my results. I think that is more than fair don’t you? Well, I’m not happy so here I am. I received septoplasty/rhinoplasty with Dr. Admire, and have all proof incase there are comments made from his team denying my experience. I had my first surgery with Dr. Admire that was performed at HonorHealth Shea Piper Center. When the cast was removed there was a wound on the bridge of my nose that his medical assistant Sierra tried to blame on me…the wound was not near the top of the splint, nor the bottom. They couldn’t tell me what happened but said it would be a nonissue. Being in healthcare I knew it didn’t look right, and looked infected as the edges were red. It appeared as though the bridge of my nose was cut by a thin object/blade of some sort (scalpel) as it was also blood tinged on the wound bed upon cast removal. Well just a few days later it was becoming a lot worse and went to the ED for extreme fever, nausea, vomiting at HonorHealth which they confirmed I had MRSA. I should have been sent to a wound clinic but Dr. Admire said it wouldn’t be a big deal and easily treatable. The wound kept getting deeper and deeper and ate through the center of the bridge of my nose causing jagged edges. Eventually the MRSA spread down the whole length of my nose ruining the texture. After the MRSA did the damage my nose looked as though it was bent at an angle. This would have been tough anywhere on the body but especially right between your eyes on your nose. Everyone asked me what happened to my face, and it was very hard. Well finally when the infection went away, I went to Honor Health to complain and they confirmed this was a nosocomial infection which means it is something that goes wrong that you get from a healthcare institution which Dr. Admire is responsible. Honorhealth wrote me a letter apologizing and refunded me the fees for the surgery center (Piper). As you can imagine with my nose looking horrible, I told Dr. Admire this needs to be fixed and cartilage needs to be placed to fill in the deficit and he said surgery would be beneficial but I would have to pay for the surgery center fee. I told him after all of this he caused no I’m not paying for anything. Dr. Admire told me that I would not need cartilage to fill in the area, that it would naturally fill in.. but he would fix some areas, including removing the scar by cutting it out and all I would be left with is a scar that would be an unnoticeable tiny line. This time I had surgery at North Valley surgery center. Fast forward a few weeks/months the deficit is still very noticeable and the scar is still large. He cuts this scar out 4 more times which made the skin so thin it has ridges and the color is a horrible purple with veins running through. He then recommend filler in that area of my nose which he did (since he didn’t fill with cartilage). Well after seeing him every week for months and months when I finally told him I still wasn’t happy since the filler was wearing off he became very angry and told me he was done with me and if I wanted help I’d have to pay $600 a session for filler in my nose. Well that was the last time I saw him. Fast forward to the past 10 years I’ve had to receive filler in my nose every 6 months which not a lot of doctors or nurses place filler in the nose because it’s a very high risk area that can cause blindness, and now it is $800+ a session. Imagine how expensive this has been! I would love to not have to have filler in my nose.. but if I do not have filler placed the cartilage in my nose sticks up so sharp it causes wounds. This is due to all the times he cut my scar out making the skin thinner and thinner. Luckily being a wound care RN now.. I am able to treat early and the doctors at work help me. The unfortunate thing is I have to do this at all! It hurts some days so badly, and I’ll have this scar as well as the deficits on my nose forever. Thought I’d write this so someone doesn’t make the same mistake I made by choosing Dr. Admire. Lastly, good luck suing him if you think you have that backup plan incase something goes wrong. Every attorney in town knows him and refuses to go against him because he testifies as a medical witness for them.
