Severely crooked, tip fallen & bump on both sides of my nose
ORIGINAL POST
Don’t Make the Same Mistake I Made.
I had my initial septorhinoplasty with Dr. Solomon in 2018. My nose was very deviated & broken from my early teens. The consultation process was extremely rushed, and I was only 19 years old and made the mistake of trusting him just because of his reputation. It made me feel absolutely horrible that the doctor showed 0 ounces of sympathy or care at any point during my rhinoplasty journey.
The day of my surgery he showed up 30 minutes late & was extremely rushed. I went in for my surgery & I woke no less than 1.5 hours later to Dr. Solomon apologizing that there had been a complication & my nose fell while he was trying to straighten it out. He said it was much more broken than he had originally anticipated. I can’t express the emotions I felt in this moment.
I was discharged from the hospital regardless of being extremely nauseous. *GRAPHIC* The nurse told me she consulted with the doctor & that I would feel better with the medication, even though I could not stop throwing up & was experiencing uncontrollable nausea after surgery even while being administered medication through my IV. I was discharged & I ended up in the emergency room no less than 2 hours later because I could not stop throwing up blood. I couldn’t stop heaving. It was actually a nightmare. I had to spend 3 hours in the ER & had to be given an IV until I felt better.
Dr. Solomon had the audacity to tell me that my nose wasn’t “that bad” when I went for my follow-up consultations post-op. I literally had no idea what he was talking about because my nose was severely crooked, my tip was fallen & I had a bump on both sides of my nose. He told me he could offer me a revision rhinoplasty, but he said it is likely that the same results would occur. It makes no sense to me that Dr. Solomon offered to do a revision rhinoplasty but did not even provide me with the correct procedure. How could he offer me a surgery without a bone graft if I had no cartilage on one side of my nose? All he said to me was that he would go in & try to straighten my nose again. After consulting with my current doctor, he said that Dr. Solomon should have done a bone graft to begin with due to lack of cartilage on the right side of my nose. He should have never agreed to take on my case in the first place, let alone for revision, without offering the proper treatment needed.
I am writing this review almost 5 years after, as I have just undergone my revision rhinoplasty with a specialized revision doctor in Iran. The doctor could not understand what Dr. Solomon did during surgery, and said that my nose was still EXTREMELY deviated on the side where I had a full cartilage. He was seriously questioning how an ENT doctor would produce these results. My doctor did a rib graft & reconstructed my nose after 3.5 hours in surgery. I woke up to no complications & absolutely NO NAUSEA. This is the difference you will experience when you choose a doctor who genuinely cares for their patients & their wellbeing.
The moral of the story is, if you have a complicated case, choose another doctor. I wouldn’t recommend him PERIOD but that’s your choice. He is extremely rushed and has no sympathy for his patients, it seems like he just wants to take on every case that comes through to have his hands full $$$. Don’t make the same mistake I made, don’t risk your time, money, physical health, or mental well-being being by choosing to do your procedure with Dr. Solomon. If you were having doubts, I hope this helps you make your decision.
