please reconsider going to this plastic surgeon

Update: Dr. C is now refusing after care b/c of this review.
I went in for my initial consultation on Nov 2020 for a Rhino- TIP. My surgery happened on Dec 2020 and Dr. Cangello has YET to see me for a follow up.
At first, Dr. C and his staff were nice. He sat down with me & even showed me books of the procedure. Dr. C said my surgery would be a CLOSED procedure and it would be simple with little down time. I woke up from the surgery with 3 cuts around my nose (open procedure) and I looked pass this lie. On top, the surgery started extremely late in the afternoon. 6 days later, I had my follow up & 2 hours before my appointment Puja (office assistant) called me to reschedule because Dr. C had a personal situation come up. I was upset because it was 2 days before Christmas & i was promised that the tapes would be removed but I looked pass this as well. I was reschedule for a few days later & AGAIN 2 hours before my appointment Puja called to reschedule because Dr. C had COVID and the office needed to quarantine. I was frustrated at this point because Puja had known about the COVID situation for over a week and decided to reschedule 2 hours before my appointment. Puja was very dismissive of how i was feeling and said it would just be "fine". After going back and forth for about 3 weeks, I told her that I will have no choice but to go to the ER because I didn't feel well and then she agreed to have me seen by the medical assistant a few days later. This has been the worst experience to go 2 months now after a surgery and not be seen by the actual surgeon for a follow up.
To go in depth on the billing which is currently a nightmare. Before my surgery, We went through surgery cost & set fees. The total cost that I was given was $11K to be paid in full before procedure; which included anesthesia & facility cost. I had asked Puja to call my insurance to get a pre approval because I was diagnosed with Rhinophyma and they would be able to cover some of my cost. I specifically told her that this surgery was contingent to my insurance agreeing to cover a portion of my cost. Puja agreed to call and assured me that they will cover it but come to find out that she never called to get the pre approval & ended up having to get a retro approval. Dr. Cangello's office is not equipped to perform surgeries and has some type of agreement with Northwell Hospital. After my surgery, I started to get surprise bills from Northwell hospital for an additional ~$3k & another from Northshore anesthesiology facility for ~$2k. I called Puja to ask about these bills & she said that the total cost that was given to me at signing was just an estimate but she FAILED to disclosed that to me nor did I signed any paperwork that acknowledges an estimate amount. For some reason, she insisted on submitting my insurance claim so I have no idea what was submitted to my insurance company & I have been asking for a superbill that itemized all the cost of the procedure. It has been a month now and I have YET to received this request.
My overall experience is that they are nice at first to get you to agree but once you give your deposit that goes out the window. It has been horrible to say the least. Puja has no customer service skills, she's very dismissive, talks over you constantly, and does not follow up at all. I wish I can say more on Dr. C but in reality I have only seen him twice (Consultation & day of procedure). My honest recommendation is to please consider other plastic surgeons because as you can see the results from the surgery were not fascinating and the experience was DREADFUL! I am going to have my documentations and bills reviewed by an attorney to make sure this facility is not scamming and overcharging.
