Honestly, terrible. Beside manner was poor and I will be having a revision surgery in the future due to poor surgical skill and increased breathing issues and septal deviation still being present. You can look at my profile for pictures, although, as the years go by it looks even worse. I bruised and bled like crazy during postop. Like black eyes swollen shut..... he never once called after I stopped showing up to follow up appointments at the 3 month mark when I stated I wasn’t liking the results. He just dropped me.

I Had a Really Poor Experience

I spent time sitting through credentials, photos of their work, and patient experience reviews before selecting a rhinoplasty surgeon. I had a dorsal hump, deviated septum, bulbous tip, and large nasal turbinates causing me some issues with allergies/ congestion. Dr. Funk assured me he would correct all of these issues. Well.... the dorsal hump is gone but my tip is still very bulbous and now looks kind of “beak” like, my deviated septum is worse and I’ve needed to carry tissues around with me 24/7 for chronic runny nose since my surgery about one year ago.
After my surgery during one follow up he injected some kenalog (a steroid) into the tip of my nose to bring down any swelling, which it really didn't. He knew I was unhappy with the tip. Never called about more follow up. Nothing.Other than this I found his bedside manner to leave a lot to be desired. I was told that if I bled through on gauze pad for hour to call as this was abnormal. I was changing mine every 30-minutes the night of surgery and was just kind of pouring blood from my nose. Didn’t have anything for pain which wasn’t horrible but it was uncomfortable. I bruised so bad my eyes swelled shut. When I called his after hours about my concerns about the bleeding I was informed that I needed to stop freaking out. Fast forward to now.... my septum deviation is BAD. To the point where during a physical for work the provider made mention of it. What did I pay $10,000 for?! Looks like revision might be on the horizon for me but I’m not sure I trust anyone after this horrible experience. I’ve never been called once about how bad this experience was.
