So I've never really liked my nose but it wasn't a horrible nose to begin with, I could still put on my makeup and contour it how I liked and felt pretty! But i started fixating on my bulbous tip and just always wished I had a more defined tip on my nose. I have pretty small dorsal hump that wasn't that noticeable and I didn't really have a problem with it. I saved up money and decided I wanted to have a subtle rhinoplasty because life is too short to look in the mirror and not love yourself! I just wanted to stop hyperfocusing on my nose and hoped that rhinoplasty could help this. Also, I've had some trauma to my nose and during my consultation I was told this could have made my turbinates enlarged, making my cartilage in tip more swollen and the cause of my worsening breathing.

Day 8 post op, pretty swollen
annetteseamJanuary 21, 2020
So I forgot to add pictures of my before! I’ll do that now. I also have a couple with my splint on during recovery. It’s day 8 and It still feels a little weird to look in the mirror. Sometimes I think I really like it and other times I think I look like a little piggy. When I first got the splint off yesterday I was freaking out inside because I looked like a freak. My nose was so small and skinny and weird looking. I’m hoping it never looks that small again, and that that was just from how tight the splint was on there. My tip is more swollen this morning but nothing crazy. I actually don’t mind how it looks, but it looks a little too elevated from the front which makes me feel like a pig. And also my side profile looks a little scooped which I don’t like, I just wanted it to be straight. But I’m hoping with time the tip drops a little bit and makes it look less scooped and less piggy

I’m 2 months post op & really depressed over my nose. It’s so much wider than I’m used to and all I can think about is wanting time to pass so I can see what my options are to fix it. Mine is a revision and I absolutely hated my nose before but don’t like how mine looks now so having bad anxiety and regret over it. It is very emotionally draining. It sucks to spend all this money and time and still not be happy :(

Still day 8 post op!

I’m still feeling like my side profile looks abnormal and cartoonish, too scooped and I wish it was straight. And I think this is what is making me feel like I look like a pig from the front. Will my tip drop a little bit and make my side profile appear less scooped? Help!!

Hi there! I had rhinoplasty a few years ago. It can be hard to tell when looking at yourself, but you're still pretty swollen. You for real cannot judge it at aallll right now because it's going to look completely different in the coming weeks! Keep us posted, please! And also for the record I don't think it looks unnatural or cartoony at all. But honestly your nose still has a lot of changing to do as swelling subsides.

@BabyGauchette thank you for your comment! Do you think the tip will drop just a little bit so it looks a little more natural to me? Also, my tip is very swollen today, which I expected, but this swelling will go away in coming months/year and there's no way that scar tissue or something could build so it stays looking like this, right?

Your tip will likely drop once everything softens! I really don't think scar tissue would build like that. It's so hard to be patient! When I was swollen I had a couple people comment that my nose was upturned, but when it was said and done I ended up with a hanging columella like I had before my surgery. Anatomy and surgery technique have a lot to do with it too.

then again the computerized "after" he created showed me with a hanging columella so it wasnt a surprise to him lol

@kukamamiaimee thank you!! I hope you get them and can't wait to see our process! Make sure you do your research on the surgeon. Trusting my surgeon's abilities has helped ease my anxiety about the results and this whole recovery process
