Rhinoplasty patient from Germany
Hi all,
I thought a long time about if I should share my experience with Dr. Kim bu I now think that it might help others with their decision.
So since I was 15 I wanted to get my nose done and searched for the right surgeon for many years. When I was 25 I finally found him in Dr Kim. Or at least that what I thought. His nose job pictures on the website looked so great and some of the results were exactly what I wanted for my nose as well.
Unfortunately it didn’t turn out as I expected.
I wanted a more defined tip and more narrow nostrils and instead I got a bump removal (I never had one!!) and a tiny bit of smaller nostrils but it’s not at all what I wanted the result to be.
Also the staff is very rude. When I wanted to schedule a consultation and couldn’t reach anyone I sent them an email with my number to call me back but they refused to call my German number as it is too expensive. So you’re telling me I have to pay 10k (that’s the price in dollars I paid) but you can’t invest one dollar for the phone bill?? Wow.
Later I wanted to pay by credit card -obviously because I can’t carry 10k with me into any other country- and my limit was 5k per transaction so I asked the receptionist (not mentioning her name here but she was super rude and arrogant) if she could swipe it again because the limit does not allow a single transaction. She refused and said that i can’t get the surgery done as I am not able to pay.
The her colleague who was sitting next to her interfered and said that she’ll try again and it worked.
Im sure I’m not the first patient that comes from abroad so a bit more politeness or flexibility would be great.
Before the surgery I never saw Dr. Kim and instead of him you had to tell his assistant what you expect for your result. She even made a mistake and said „oh your breasts are fine, why do you want them done?“ and I said „I’m here for a rhinoplasty...“ so they did not even prepare for the consultation. Anyway. On the day of surgery I learned that on this day he had 8! surgeries and I was the second one. Just after he rolled out a butt implant patient he talked to me for two minutes, asked what I wanted and took two pictures, from the front and side. That’s all I saw from him.
When he took the cast off I thought „ok it’s swollen, it will be fine“ but today, almost two years after the surgery I’m now trying to find a revision surgeon because I’m not happy at all. I have the feeling that he performs the same nose on everyone.
What also bothers me a lot is the scarring. It’s still visible under the nose (he did an open rp) and also inside the nostrils there are a few bumps because he tied the knot of the stitches too close to the skin so the skin grew over it and now there is a little bump on each side.

Overall a nice guy but he does not invest time to talk to his patients
