Dr Cote Made My Nose Worse

Photos of before and 1 year after. I’m getting revision surgery soon with a different doctor. Dr Cote removed my slight hump and in doing so made my nose more bulbous and droop! On top of that I specifically asked him to make my nostrils smaller which scarring shows he attempted but was far too conservative with for any difference to show whatsoever. My nose is bad from every angle now. So much time and money wasted with Dr. Cote who couldn’t even admit he messed up. He kept saying it’s the iPhone camera’s lense that makes it look like that and then he said it’s just swelling - well one year later and it definitely wasn’t swelling!

Honestly, he does an OK job but if you want someone to do a great job, do not go here. Dr. Cote associates mediocre work with the aesthetic in Colorado. I think he did an OK job from a profile view (if taken far away) and a terrible job from a frontal view. Overall my old nose looked better and I will not go back to him because when I pointed out the obvious defect of the front of my nose now pointing downward and drooping past the rest of my nose (unlike before), he proceeded to do a mockup of what it would look like if he removed that droopage. This mockup was a joke, he just cut off a part of my nostril and said "is this what you want?!" I legit thought he was kidding. I honestly can't believe his assistant in the room didn't say anything and stick up for me at that point. I calmly said that he's the expert and I can only trust what he thinks so I'm happy to do whatever that is. I went back to California and immediately knew I had to go to someone else to fix it. That was the first time in my life I'd had surgery or gone under the knife and I really don't want to do it again so all I can say is stay away from this doctor.

absolutely. I can't live with this nose. It sucks that this is now going to cost me twice as much (probably more considering it's now a revision rhinoplasty)..
Did you choose this doctor because of location? So sorry you have to go through the stress of finding and trusting another doctor. Been there done that. Covid has put a monkey wench into consulting with doctors from the US I am from Canada. I actually had an appt for this past spring break with Dr Mascaro in Florida to consult about a lip lift and possibly a minor nose revision at the same time. I had seen a review where he did a lip lift and a minor nose revision and it looked great. I had to cancel because of covid. Have you been researching revision doctors and do you have any one in mind?
I moved to California and have been consulting with revision doctors whom all said Dr Cote obviously left me with a worse nose than before. I just want to get this revision over with but the best doctors book over a year out in advance so I’m struggling with going with a doctor who can get me in sooner vs waiting another year..
We are so sorry to hear about the level of frustration you have. We have spent a tremendous time with you in the office doing our best to address your concerns. Normally after rhinoplasty there is swelling that can take time to resolve and heal. It can take a year or more. If a patient has some issues that can be addressed then we will do every effort we can to address them. We saw some very nice results at your last visit and even offered a solution to correct some preferences that you had. We always do our best to listen to your concerns and address what reasonably can be addressed. Please reach out to us so we can discuss it in person.
I'm so sorry this happened to you. Thank you for posting a review and saving many of us from making this mistake. I'm so sorry he tried to justify your concerns. Swelling is only an excuse. Your nose will change size but not shape. Cristina Villegas on YT had this same thing happen to her maybe you can look into her revision surgeon. I wish you the best of luck

Do you honestly think you offered solutions for my preferences? Be honest. Please. You literally chopped my face on the mockup and said “is this what you want?!l“ it was a complete joke and I will never forget the lack of professionalism
