Turkey Nose Job Failure. Huge Big Nose

rainecostello

I was in Turkey for dental work and last minute decided to get a nose job. A quick search and dr Seckin showed up with great reviews. He took me in with three days notice and did the surgery on a Saturday for me.

The consult was ok. The office was beautiful and staff lovely. Unfortunately Dr Seckin had difficulty listening to what I wanted and was more interested in what he wanted. While editing the photos of me he kept lifting my tip. I said many times that I do not want a tip lift.

The day of the surgery, I was in a beautiful hospital. Amazing nurses and very caring staff. They had me relaxed and comfortable. After signing the forms, dr Seckin again went through what he was going to do. He said he was lifting the tip. Again I said no. I went under and had surgery.

When I awoke my eyes felt like they were on fire! I was screaming from pain from my eyes, not my nose. Dr Seckin came running and got the nurses to ice my eyes and help me. Not enough gel was put on my eyes when I was under so my eyes were opened and dried out for the hours I was under surgery. (See pic one). Again, the nurses were amazing and changed the ice over hourly to help with the pain. The remainder of my stay was comfortable. Great food and absolutely incredible staff.

When I was to exit the next day, Dr Seckin came in and talked about the surgery. He also mentioned that he has lifted my tip among other things. I’m a ‘go with the flow’ person and don’t get too stressed about much. I just accepted the tip lift. I went back to the hotel room and slept for a few days. I was supplied lots of drugs to help and clear instructions.

Day three I had my dental work finished and was in a bit of pain. I messaged dr Seckin and said I wouldn’t make the consult we had planned as I wanted to rest. He tried to get me to come but I was too sore to get a taxi etc. He said he needed to see me before I left. He and his wife personally picked me up in his car at 10pm at night and took me to their office just to make sure I was looked after. They were very kind and went through my nose surgery and gave me more items to help recovery. Then dropped me home. It was a very personal touch that I much appreciated.

I flew home the next day. A few days after arriving home, I noticed an infection on and in my nose. I got antibiotics and it cleared up. Only to return a week later. Again I got antibiotics and it cleared up. A week later- same thing. I went to the hospital and they kept me in for two weeks giving me IV injections. I then received a picc line (a cord injected from my arm to near my heart pumping antibiotics 24 hours). This was in for four weeks. I had a very bad Staph infection. My nose was massive and swollen.
Time went on and my nose was huge. I was on and off antibiotics again due to the staph reoccurring.

Week 11- nose the size of a house
Week 15 - no change
Week 20 - massive nose even bigger than ever before

I booked an ENT who checked scans etc. I am currently working with him and getting Ketalog injections. Unfortunately my nose wasn’t operated on very well. It is wide, lumps on the bridge and very sore still. It swells when I lift weights and do cardio and fills with fluid.

Dr Seckin has replied to all my messages and asked about my treatment as I’ve been going.

As of now, five months later, my nose is double the size of what it was before the surgery.
I’ve also found the reviews are all done by he and the staff using their pictures. They manage to delete negative reviews.

What I can tell you from my own horrible experience, is that the swelling in the tip of my nose did not begin to decrease until about 11 months post op. I am now 16 months post op. Swelling still going down but big difference in appearance. I’m commenting because I know how it takes a toll on your emotional and mental health. Be patient.
