Consultation review: Negative Experience

I never write reviews, but I was so disappointed in the service that I received from Dr. Ashlin Alexander that I feel compelled to share with anyone seeking out a plastic surgeon in Toronto. Due to COVID, consultations are done virtually and paid for at the time of booking. After being assured I would receive a in-person consult afterwards, I paid $200+HST and booked a consultation for rhinoplasty. I was really excited, as this was going to be my first consultation. My interactions with the receptionist up until this point were positive, and I was fairly confident that I would be proceeding to book the surgery. However, my consultation experience was far from what I expected. Dr. Alexander was 10 minutes late for my consult- not a huge deal, but there was no acknowledgement when he finally logged on, no apology. He basically just asked me if I had any questions and if I wanted the profile straight or sloped. Did not introduce himself, maybe explain his credentials or experience... this is my face and first cosmetic procedure... but there was no effort to maybe make things more personable or make me feel at ease. It lasted 10 minutes. I logged off obviously feeling completely dissatisfied and couldn't believe I spent that much for 10 minutes of crappy video time. The in-person consult turned out to just be a pre-op appointment, as in I was expected to provide a $2000 non-refundable deposit based off this 10 minute conversation. I was sent digital imaging photos of my nose- I was willing to look past all of this if I thought I would be in good hands. It honestly looked awful- my nose is pointy and the digital imaging provided made my nose round and pig-like. After receiving the images and thinking about the experience, I wrote a short email stating my disappointment in the consult, and felt that my desires were not addressed, something that was clearly depicted by the awful imaging I was sent. Never got a response. As someone who has worked in customer service for over 8 years, I am honestly so appalled.
