Absolutely delighted with the results

I had a rhinoplasty one year ago with Duncan Atherton and I am absolutely delighted with the results!

My nose had a split in the cartilage called a 'bifid nasal tip'. This line had become more prominent over the years, probably due to a loss of fat in the face, until one day, it was as though I saw a bottom on my face! That was the moment I decided something must be done!!!



Finding a good nose surgeon however, was no easy task. Even those considered the best of the best had some worryingly negative reviews, particularly concerning after-care. I also learnt that rhinoplasty is probably the most difficult type of cosmetic surgery to perform and the rate of nose job failure is between 5-10%. I narrowed my search down to three surgeons, all working at the Cadogan Clinic, and even though I'm sure the others would have also given a good result, I only met with Dr Atherton and the choice was made. Duncan took a lot of time to understand exactly the result I was looking for and we both agreed on a conservative approach of which he is the master! He assured me that no one at my work would notice anything (good!) but all the subtle changes would give me a much improved aesthetically pleasing nose that was also recognisable as mine.



The day of surgery came around and as usual Duncan was reassuring and caring which made me feel a lot less nervous. One moment, I was waiting for the general anaesthetic to take effect and the next moment, it was all over! Duncan visited me afterwards and I remember him saying, 'I think we nailed it!'- so gracious of him to include me in the process when he was doing all the hard work!



I felt good and recovered quickly from the anaesthetic and there was no pain. The only uncomfortable part was sleeping as it is not possible to breathe through your nose in the first week as you are so blocked up. This meant in practice, that I was waking up every few hours due to dry mouth but it was a small price to pay for a beautiful nose! When the cast came off a week later, my nose looked so smooth and so much straighter than before and my profile was a huge improvement. And as Dr Atherton had said, no one noticed any difference apart from me. I love the result and a huge added bonus is that I can breathe better than before.



So, if you want a natural looking nose, Duncan Atherton is your man. He is trustworthy and talented and I'm so glad I chose him.
