So thrilled with the results, it just looks so natural

For the past 10 years I had been very self conscious about the appearance of my nose, particularly my side profile. Over the last year I had been really considering rhinoplasty and looking into the surgical options.

I am a medical professional and for me it was extremely important that the surgeon who performed the rhinoplasty was also an ENT consultant. From the first consultation with Mr Shandilya I knew he was the right person to do this surgery. He is a very relaxed and passionate surgeon. His care for his patient is evident in his patient centred approach in how he got the input from other medical professionals including a psychiatric evaluation and GP in the work up for surgery. Fiona and Sarah were brilliant in their calls and communication with me and I always knew I could give them a call if I had any queries.

I had a pre op call with a nurse a few days before the surgery and a covid test was organised two days before the surgery. All went really well on the morning of the surgery and I did feel really well informed prior to admission and the surgery itself. The anaesthetic team and post op nurses were excellent. Mr Shandilya called in prior to the surgery and also later on in the evening after the operation. I stayed overnight in the hospital and had packing in my nose which made it difficult to sleep but it was fine (and not sore) once removed. I had minimal bruising, as predicted by Mr Shandilya. I was really shocked at how painless it was. I followed Mr Shandilya's post op notes very closely which I think ensured a really good recovery. Once the bandages were removed, my nose was a little swollen (I have a thick skin type so swelling was expected) but after a few days it really wasn't noticeable at all that I had anything done. My nose was tender, but not sore, for maybe 2-3 weeks. I am now 6 weeks post op and have had my follow up with Mr Shandilya and have another planned for a few weeks time. I am so thrilled with the results, it just looks so natural. There is a small amount of swelling in the tip of my nose remaining but it is not noticeable to others. It is really hard to explain the difference it has made in my self confidence in my appearance- it has been life changing.
