Slight changes but i’ve only been happier about each one as it heals
ORIGINAL POST
Dr. Ali Evlice, Adana, Turkey
I finally got my nose job after legit years of saying how much I wanted one. I did a ton of research in the last 3 years to find a surgeon’s style i liked. Finally, i came across dr. Ali on instagram and followed his work for another year or so before finally booking my appointment. I live in US and had literally never left the country before my trip to go to Turkey for surgery. I’m 23 and I took my parents for support (and safety). I got my surgery done a month ago and stayed in turkey for 14 days.
First off, i just want to say I’m already kinda obsessed with my results. The healing process was brutal the first 4 days and i had the worst bruising and swelling that i never knew my face could look like. For this reason, i cannot stress enough how much you should take your own snacks and supplies as much as you can bring and possibly stock up the day before surgery on certain drinks and soft foods you could have on hand.
I reached out to dr. ali’s ig what’s app number in april 2021 and was able to book an appointment out to nov 2021. There is a deposit you should send, mine was $250. 4000 euros is the cost of a primary rhino which is what i paid. these prices are changing in the new year, they had told me that when i initially reached out. i was also able to have a video chat with the dr while he was home and off duty just to hear more about the process in july. I really appreciated it and it made me more excited to go after speaking with him.
He is brutally honest about expectations especially as i’m someone with thicker skin. It honestly almost terrified me at first hearing the possibilities of it not meeting expectation, but there’s a risk in every surgery done. This is what we talked about our consultation when i had finally arrived to adana last month. I will say, google translate is important and having internet to be able to use google maps is very important especially because few people spoke english except the director of international patients, who guides your consultation where you get blood drawn, weighed, etc. and the doctor himself.
Like I said, my swelling was terrible and i was practically miserable after surgery trying to heal. A one night stay in the hospital that night was included and i just remember continuously asking for ice bags to switch out thru the night and throwing up some gross stuff. Gets worse before it gets better type of healing for me, but i’ve heard everyone is different!! Some things that i wished i planned better for and things that i’m glad i had:
- diffuser, i got a small one from amazon and it helped when it was closer by me
- dry mouth spray from amazon as well, super helpful for dry throat after tube is removed, i’d get 2 to be safe
-ice packs to continuously switch, but make sure to plan for having a freezer or ice machine (something i overlooked and had to send my dad to get ice from the restaurant in the hotel continuously)
-i honestly slept with a travel neck pillow the first 3 nights
-vaporub helped me
-tea, water, organic pineapple juice, arnica tablets, tissues, a lot of q-tips, fruits + leafy greens
-can’t wash ur face so i used cotton rounds and micellar water
- tylenol extra strength, i took these instead of the stronger painkiller he had given incase i needed (which tbh i probably did need it but i was just anxious about taking too many pain pills idk)
- i sneezed A LOT it was uncomfortable as anything ever experienced. have some allergy pills yourself too, he prescribes some but i had to take 2 a day bc my sneezing so i went thru them kinda fast
overall the whole experience was kinda surreal to me, i did have anxiety before the surgery as it was my first time being put to sleep as well. However i’m very glad i went through with it even at 1 month post op. i hope i continue to heal correctly but seriously so hopeful and excited because of how great i feel now and how it’s looking already :) i’ve seen some complaints about how wide the front is of his noses. maybe it’s just preference because my front nose is literally my favorite thing about it. He didn’t mess with it’s fit on my face which i truly appreciate. i didn’t come out of this as a whole entire new face i still felt like myself once my face swelling went down significantly. seeing my nose from week to week shows slight changes but i’ve only been happier about each one as it heals. praying n hoping to stay on this path:)
