The Korea Plastic Surgery Rumors Are True :)
In August 2019, I already established my nursing career and was able to consider the surgery I was waiting ever since I was a little girl (sad? I know). I am an American born Chinese/Vietnamese. In my opinion, my nose always seems to be the largest thing on my face, and I been dreaming of having rhinoplasty to make it smaller and more narrow. I searched around in the Bay Area and was quoted 15-19k for my nose. I felt hopeless at the time and decide to research international. I heard rumors about Korea being expertise in their plastic surgery, as well as affordable. I chose to do further research and came across the Misooda website, which they had quite the promotions on many different types of surgery. It almost sounds too good to be true. I researched the company and did not found any negative or scam reviews. I contacted the Misooda on their easy chatbox and was connected with a consultant. The consultants were quick to respond and were very pleasant. They even typed perfect English! They review what I want, including my budgets, and they found the surgery clinic for me. I decided to get a rhinoplasty and double eyelid surgery package. I was quoted on a good deal and was so excited. The only thing I need to do was getting the air ticket and Airbnb.
The Misooda team was in contact with me via Whatapp constantly, even during my time in Seoul, Korea. They also provided suggestions on travel tips or food recommendations. I arrived in Seoul, Korea, on 1/9/2020.
ITEM Clinic Consultation:
The office was easy to find, and it was one block away from the subway. The office itself was beautiful and had friendly, gorgeous staff that could be mistaken as Kpop stars. I didn't have to wait that long and was already meeting the surgeon who discussed ideal rhinoplasty/double eyelids that appropriate for my face shape. Due to the complexity of my nose reconstruction, the ITEM clinic quoted the price that was out of range compared to what Misooda quoted me. It was not Misooda's fault because the quote was based on the picture I sent to them. I got a little upset because I did not bring enough money to cover the cost. I even gave up the double eyelid procedure. The Misooda team eventually save my life, by following up with me right away and finding another payment solution for me to achieve both eyes/nose surgery. The Misooda team really did everything for me to make sure I can get my surgery done the next morning.
Surgery day 1/10/2020 :
This day happens so fast that I did not have time to be nervous. I was 45 minutes late to my appointment, and the understanding surgery staff rushed me into the room to get consents signed and prepared for pre-op. I was in the surgery room within an hour. I remember having five nurses around me doing multiple things like getting IV ready, cleaning my face, and discussing the plan with the surgeon. I was awake for the double eyelid procedure, and once that was done, I was knock out from the anesthesia for the rhinoplasty.
I woke up feeling really tired and was curious about how I ended up in the recovery room. I did not feel any pain, but more of feeling congested in the nose. I received a week's supply of pain/antibiotics meds, post-op care, and pumpkin juice from the surgery clinic.
Fast forward on the 7th days:
I had my stitches and nose cast removed precisely seven days after my surgery. I love how the overall appearance of my nose, but the nose tip looks enormous for my face. The ITEM clinic staff and surgeon reassure me that this is normal, and the swollen will decrease after a month.
