Irresponsible, Unprofessional, Untrustworthy
As a pharmacist from the UK, my experience with this doctor's nose surgery has been extremely disappointing. From the very beginning, I encountered multiple issues that have left me dissatisfied with the entire process.
Firstly, the doctor's credibility was immediately called into question when he claimed to have a family emergency so he could not see me for the removal of the cast. However his Instagram story was populated with photos of him at a hotel, beach and swimming pool on holiday. This raised concerns about his honesty and commitment to his patients.
Furthermore, the absence of the doctor during the cast removal was unsettling. He sent a random doctor who I had never met before who works for another clinic to remove the cast. For all I knew this man was not a doctor. I chose to book with Dr Turkmen as I was assured he will be there every step of the way. This crucial post-surgery appointment should not have been neglected, as it left me without proper guidance and assurance regarding my recovery.
The most distressing aspect of this experience was the noticeable bump on my nose, which was evident from the photo taken on the operating table. Instead of addressing this issue honestly, I was told it would resolve on its own. This lack of transparency and accountability was deeply concerning.
Additionally, my requests for a revision were met with resistance, and the doctor refused to cover the hospital expenses, suggesting a revision at the clinic. This raises doubts about the safety and compliance of the clinic with EU regulations, further adding to my apprehension.
Moreover, the financial burden placed on me is unfair. Being asked to pay for my flights, hotel, and an extra ticket for a friend to accompany me is unreasonable. I believe these expenses should have been covered by the doctor, especially considering the complications and dissatisfaction I've experienced. I agreed to pay for the hotel and flights as I was desperate but asked for them to cover the transfer costs from the airport to the hotel and also hotel to clinic. This was also declined. This team are terrible with their aftercare.
To make matters worse, the doctor's professionalism was called into question when they scheduled a phone call with me to discuss my dissatisfaction, which they subsequently missed. This lack of punctuality and commitment to communication only exacerbated my frustration.
