NO. I do not know how my nose will turn out, but I will tell you my story. I went in for a consult for Refining the tip & Dorsal Hump REMOVAL. My CONSULT paper STATED this, along with the price & I even had to speak to his coordinator Stephanie after my first PRE-op, to have her speak with Dr. Kays b/c he was not getting the picture. He was trying to put the "tip" on the back burner for some reason, I could tell.. Even though I SHOWED him. I was assured, he knew. We will see. I'm on Youtube & I have pictures & videos every single day before & after.
Fast Forward, surgery day. I have PAID someone (b/c I insisted to) I know to go with me & drive me home b/c I have NO family here. I got there 20 minutes early, sat nervously in the waiting room for an hour, finally said something. They come out to get me, undress, you know that drill.
When he came in he addressed the dorsal hump, I brought up the TIP. He slides back & tells the Nurse to go get my paper (maybe I LIED?) He would have to refer me to another Dr., he doesn't do tip work, we will see how much I paid & give me my money back. HAD I been nasty at any point, that kind of behavior might would have been ok, but I was nice about all of it, even the fact he never he examined my nose, or got near it before that point. I am sitting there naked in a gown, my PAID person waiting, we drove an hour, I took a week off, & he is JUST NOW TELLING me this, when it is ON my consult. "ELEVATE the tip". How would you feel in this position? I felt awful, but continued.
I am not quite 3 wks post op, nose looks the same, I AM sure there is swelling. I have THE. SAME.BUMP. Now, I realize everyone is different, I am not stupid. But, EVERY one of the over 100 YT videos I have watched on Dorsal Hump Removal, Splint removals, etc, the hump is GONE at reveal. HUGE ones too that were grinded on like crazy. Mine was kind of a normal one. Ha, still is.. Several plastic surgeons have said the hump should be gone, there may be some swelling (which I do have) but a visible HARD BONE HUMP is different. I KNOW 4 peope that have had this procedure. Splint off, hump gone.. some swelling for a year. Normal. Today is Friday,..Tuesday I got a little upset about it, and called the office for some "Assurance", a pep tak, whatever. Left a message. NO return call. But they tell you throughout the entire process, "call anytime, for any reason". Well, this was the SECOND call they had not returned from me, I had also called PRE op to see if I needed to bring any of the papers with me surgery day. No one called me back. They also said they would call to check on me after surgery, they didn't. My splint fell off on day 6, it was to be removed the next day anyway so I taped it back on to sleep that night. I noticed a spot of blood at the TOP of my nose. Then I noticed there was one of those suture type pieces of tape on that spot, so I left it. Found out the next day, there was a stitch put there, the rasping tool went through my nose! You know who told me? The surgical nurse, AFTER I asked. He didn't even tell me when he came in. Sure, it's ok to puncture someone's skin, stitch it up & not even tell them. A hole through the top of my nose. Why not? So, today, they have had 3 days to return my call about my nose bone sticking out & have not. I just called the office, told the receptionist what ALL has happened with my calls, she doesn't know the rest, & told her to tell Dr. Kays herself. I mean, b/c it wouldn't do any good to leave a msg right? If my nose FALLS OFF, I will take it to another Dr. I am done with this carnival.
3 hrs after posting this (is it there, or will they hide this?) to their WEBSITE REVIEWS, they call & email. No thanks. ** & week update: My nose looks like a rollercoaster, worse than before, w/ a scar on it. Save your money, now I have to go see another plastic surgeon Monday to try to fix this mess! I'd LOVE my money back!! Plus some!
