FAILED Nose Surgery in Bangkok, Avoid REMA Clinic I!

the thread

Hi, I would like to share my horrible nose job experience in Bangkok with you guys, a lesson I learned the hard way.
I’m currently 25 year old, I was born and raised in France and my parents are of Thai descent.
In February 2017, I got a job opportunity in Thailand so I moved to Bangkok. Before I started my new job, I was already fascinated by how easy it was to undergo a surgery in Thailand, and obviously less expensive than in Europe.
A friend of mine suggested I get in touch with Khun Bee from the Rema Clinic in Udomsuk, soi 7. I remember very well the first time I arrived there, I was quite surprised by the lack of medical equipment and the size of the room but didn’t say anything. From the outside, it looks like a small bakery shop with an alley leading upstairs to the operating room. I just hoped the surgery go well and I recover quickly to start my new job with my new face and a pointier nose, and I wish to recover so fast that my new colleagues won’t find out anything. I was aware of the poor quality place but kept in mind that this would be over in a couple of days.
Khun Bee wasn’t even a real doctor, just the owner of the clinic, and she would work with many surgeons from many provinces of the country.
I booked a slot in her agenda, I was expected to come back to her clinic next Friday, around 8 pm. We agreed upon the price 45,000 THB around 1200 euros or $1,400. she also asked me to sign a paper, so that she won’t be held responsible of the outcome of the surgery.
My cousin dropped me the following week at 7.30 PM.. we waited for more than 3 hours until the surgeon eventually arrived, excusing himself and telling us that he missed his flight. As soon as he saw my face, he studied my facial features for 30 seconds, pinching my nose, turning my face on the side. He said I didn’t have enough nose bone and would need an implant, what’s more he will add some cartilage bone from the behind my ear.. I was quite scared actually.
I joined the surgeon and Khun Bee in the plain room, the music was being played in the background as she was holding my hands. He gave me 4 shots of anaesthetics on each side of my nose, on my forehead and near my upper lip. And that’s it, not a general anaesthesia as it have been if this was done in France.
I was aware of everything and could see through the slid of my eyes, hear everything that was being said between the two of them.
The surgeon cut the basis of my nostril and then inserted the implant with a hammer, I only heard sounds like knocks, I was so taken aback when I couldn’t breath that I started to panic and literally sit up !!! Khun Bee pushed me back on the table, I was again laying on my back, this time breathing through my mouth, it felt somewhat « heavy » and unpleasant. The procedure went on : the surgeon applied anaesthetic spray behind my ear and the next second he is already holding a scalpel to cut it and to extract a small amount of bone. I was telling myself this is going too fast , my my heart pounded quickly. It was going to hurt as hell and I waived my hand stop so that they could wait until the product takes effect (Which lasted about 5 minutes).
After they wiped my face, they handed me a mirror and all I could hear was «the new you looks so pretty, congratulations on your new face !! »
I looked myself in the mirror, in shock, this was worse than I expected, the nose was swollen, and slightly too much on the left side ? Anyway, it didn’t really come out as I expect it would, less straighter but more natural and still Asian-ish.
Khun Bee gave me some medicine, it turned out my stomach couldn’t really absorb them, they would give me nausea and diarreah. I then left the clinic and went back home, feeling a little bit depressed by what I chose to do and I knew deep inside I had no choice, there was no return nor regrets.
The first night I didn’t sleep well, breathing wasn’t easy and it itches a lot. I wasn’t allowed to wash my face thoroughly, juste around my eyes and my cheeks. One thing I noticed is that now I had more « volume and shape » but the nose tip was still red and it itches a lot !
One week later, I went back to the clinic to take out the bandage, when Khun Bee pulled on the suture thread, it was so painful , it « stings so much that I winced, my eyes watery.
They put a plaster in between my eyes to hold the base of the implant and I was allowed to go shopping this time. What a relief !
The day before I joined my company, we decided to take out the plaster, I felt a tingling sensation from my forehead to the tip of my nose, this weird feeling lasted for what seems like a decade. I tried to put on my glasses, it gave me suddenly a headache, but I couldn’t ’t explain why.
My first day has finally arrived, I looked myself in the mirror and panicked : the was a huge bump between my eyes!! Time went by and it kept growing, every time I walk to the train station, I would feel like the implant was just floating under my skin, it wasn’t fixed or attached as it’s supposed to be.
Even my colleagues suggested I go to the clinic, it may be an infection. Indeed, they drained out 2 syringes of thick blood stuck under the bump, it hurt so much they drained it without any aesthetics, the needle thicker than a pencil mine.
2 year passed by, I’m now back in France. I still can’t wear my glasses for more than 10 minutes cause it hurts, and the nose tip is still red. Sometimes darker. The shape isn’t as straight as it used to be, slightly turning downward on the tip.
It remained like this until last month, in March 2019 when I found a very noticeable blackhead on my nose. I tried to remove it and pulled it out. I would have never ever guessed what would come out of it : The suture thread (about 2 centimeters ) my fears quickly proved to be well founded and I bursted into a flood of tears all day log. All I could think of to get rid of it was to cut it with a nail clipper, it was stupid but I had no choice. I feel dizzy all the time and worst there is now like yellowish drops or blood drops coming out of the tip of my nose every time my hand brush against it.
I have an appointment with a specialized surgeon in Paris, she can get it fixed soon hopefully.
So,If you want to do a nose job at Rema Clinic, enter at your own risk… Sometimes it ’s best to spend more money to get the best service, especially when it come to your health or a part of your body that is visible. I deeply regret my poor choice and will think twice next time.
If you ave any question about my bad experience and want more pictures, just leave me a message and I will gladly answer your questions.
Bye for now
