Best Experience I Could Have Hoped For! So So Happy!

I have found Realself very helpful over the years so wanted to give my experience of my very recent closed septo/rhinoplasty (preservation technique) with Dr Lydia Badia.

I have always been self conscious of my nose as it was big, and when I was a teenager I fell and broke it, leaving me with a crooked bridge, especially on one side. Certain angles and lights really highlighted the break and 'curve' of my nose towards one side, and it made me hate photos being taken of me.

I had considered rhinoplasty for many years, spoken to quite a few surgeons, but never felt fully comfortable with their manner, or the result that I might get (some surgeons had very 'personal' ideas about what might look good or not and I found that off-putting). I always had a 'bad feeling' and anxieties and never went further than the consultation.

As soon as I met Lydia (over the computer) for my initial consultation I knew she was the right surgeon for me! We spoke in detail about what I wanted, and she was kind, honest and I could tell she really cared about me as a patient. Not only that but her previous reviews and reputation was impeccable, and I immediately booked in my surgery.

I have felt calm and positive throughout the whole experience and I truly believe that was due to the fact I knew I was in safe hands with Lydia.

The day of surgery went very smoothly and I felt well looked after at all times, I saw Lydia both before I went in, and she was there as soon as I woke up to let me know how it went and show me a photo!

The recovery was extremely smooth, I barely got any bruising and I could breath out of my nostrils from around day 3-4 which was just so shocking to me and also my friends who were expecting photos of black eyes and extreme swelling! I was tired but managed to sleep and rest, it was amazing how quickly it all healed! This quick recovery is due to the special preservation technique that Lydia uses (world renowned).

A week later I was in for the cast removal, which was just amazing. I had prepared to be underwhelmed or even shocked due to swelling or irregularities but from the moment I saw my new nose I could not stop smiling. What made that experience even better was that Lydia was just as happy and excited as me! It was lovely seeing how passionate she is about her work and how happy she was for me.

I have attached a side profile photo, both before and on the day of the cast removal. My nose has been deprojected (made smaller) and the tip refined but still keeping the overall shape that it had before so I still look like 'me'. I am over the moon with the results already and they will only get better from here. My front profile is smoother, straighter and more refined, it is still swollen but already looks 10x better than my previous nose.

Dr Lydia is the best of the best and I would 100% recommend.
