Rhinoplasty with Dr Shahidi Left Me with a Deformed Nose.

Shopkeeper22

I had full open rhinoplasty with Dr.Shahidi over 2 years ago and have been left with a deformed nose which has affected my wellbeing and metal health as a result.

The whole experience was truly traumatic from the result to the after care.

I had rhinoplasty to correct some issues as my nose was slightly crooked from some previous trauma to my nose years ago.

My nostrils are a different size /shape. they were perfect before.

Tip of my nose is completely twisted.

Alot of the tissue in my nose has been either damaged or removed.

I couldnt breath out of my left nostril before the surgery but could breath out of the right perfectly , now I struggle to breath at all.

I struggle to sleep at night as my breathing is that bad.

He actually made my nose slimmer and shorter which was not discussed once prior to the surgery.

The result is unacceptable. I understand these surgeries come with risk but he has messed up my nose so bad.

The fact that the plan was to only straighten my nose but instead he tries to completely change my whole nose without mention these changes is a disgrace.

The aftercare was terrible also. Every check up was in and out within 10 mins. I argued my concerns but he kept saying everythings ok and touched me up with some filler, which didn'nt help this situation.

One of the check ups I mentioned that my nose started to appear slightly twisted. this was about 5 months post surgery so my nose was set and stitched healed. ''He told me to tap my nose over to the other side of my face''. I was in shock by this.

After paying over 25,000 for this operation I taught the aftercare would be better than this. Really felt I wasn't valued as a patient at a all.

I also paid 350 to see their counsellor which was compulsory.

The counsellor said they would be there for me every step of the way and after the surgery if I have any questions ect.

Got one message from them.

I asked the counsellor about my concerns and they didn't even write back.

Should be ashamed of themselves.

Im not one for reviews, even in bad experiences but I have to share this with others. Im sure others have had good results with this surgeon but I'm only going off my own experience.

Ive also seen similar bad reviews about this surgeon in the last year, which have recently been removed.

Just don't let instagram fool you and do proper research.

If you want me to go into more detail about this terrible experience you can pm me.

We believe it would be very helpful for you to share your before photos next to your current photos. If you like, we would love to share them for you (with your permission) while blurring our your eyes similar to what you have done?

This looks like a really good result except for scar tissue and thin skin (which is not the surgeon's fault.) The breathing thing must be awful though it is common. This is a SLAP-SIMON review lmao get a closed revision with piezo

The fact that you have recommend a revision surgery shows that this isn't a "good result".
Fact is my nose was never twisted before the surgery and now it is. So the surgeon is 100% to blame here. If it wasn't for his harsh techniques and his desire to change my whole nose this wouldn't of happened. I highly doubt you are qualified enough to be making silly comments like that.

Hi. I read your review with interest and after the woeful experience I have had with his surgery I am hardly surprised. The whole mandatory psychologist referral by Dr shahidi is an absolute disgrace and unethical. Dr shab is atrocious and does not reply to any queries. I guess she doesn't need to follow anything through because she makes $350 dollars every time a client walks into shahidids office whether they are depressed or not. The office team are an absolute bunch of rude, condescending ill informed glorified receptionists. I will be reporting them to APRHA as there are so many reviews online that back up all the above.

Hey i am nose shopping currently and want to hear all aspects of others experiences. Would you mind telling me more? its so hard to suss out surgeons when their social media looks great and majority reviews seem to be positive.

Hi, my advice would be try chat with actual real people that have had survives with surgeons. Don't go off instagram and the reviews online without any pictures to prove the outcomes. I wouldn't recommend this surgeon . It depends what u want down. If u have a simple small hump removal then maybe but for anything slightly more challenging I would avoid this guy . There are way better surgeons available in Sydney Melbourne

Breathing none existing. Nose keeps getting worse.

Just an update for anyone thinking having surgery with this guy.

I've recently been diagnosed with ENS(empty nose syndrome) due to the surgery. which basically means I barely breath through my nose at all. Along with regular side affect such as headaches , dry mouth , sleepless nights ect.

This surgeon cowardly refused to see me for my last few check ups knowing he screwed up my operation.
Absolutely shocking. He takes my money ruins my nose then doesn't even try help or even give me and advice on what can be done now. He should be ashamed.

I hope that you are doing better.

Did your doctor offer a revision for your surgery?

How did they justify not seeing you at your final appointment? I can only imagine that they made you pay for post up checkups in your total payment before the surgery, refusing to see you makes them look quite bad.

Furthermore, if they refused to see you as they were aware of their errors, did they offer you a refund? For the result you have been left with, that seems to be the most moral thing to do.

Have you seen any GPs or specialists about the problems that you have been experiencing?

If so, were they able to offer a solution to your breathing issues?

I was also wondering if you could notice the dents throughout your healing process, or if they only became apparent after 1 year or more?

I would immensely appreciate your response to these questions, I hope that you are able to find someone to help you!
