Tip dropping

Here is a photo of 1 week post surgery compared to 4 weeks post surgery. Still a lot of swelling to go down but you can see a definite improvement in how upturned the nose is. I still feel like it is too upturned. Can see a lot of nostril from the front but my surgeon has assured me that the tip will continue to drop as swelling goes down.

7 weeks post op - surgeon review

I saw my surgeon this week for a follow up. I am 7 weeks post-op. He seemed pleased with the progress so far, I raised a couple of concerns. One is that I have a funny smell in my nose, like an "off" smell. He checked the inside of my nose and didn't see any sign of infection but noted there was a lot of swelling to still go down and healing to happen. Said it could be secretions from that and that he wasn't concerned but to keep an eye on it. I also said I felt my nostrils were wider and more flared, again he said that there was still a significant amount of swelling inside my nose and to reassess in 6 months time, also said that he would usually advise against having the nostrils reduced as it leaves visible scars. I also have a small bump on the bridge of my nose. He explained prior to my surgery that this was a common issue and that they can be shaved down with a second, less intense surgery after about a year. I said that it doesn't bother me enough at the moment to want to go under anaesthetic (I didn't react well) but he said that it could either get better or worse as my nose heals. So more on that as the swelling goes down.
He noted that the tip was still very hard and gave me some massages to do to help soften it.

Swelling

Just thought I'd share how much swelling differs on a day to day basis. One photo is taking after waking up when I'm stuffy and swollen and the second is in the afternoon. I often wake up thinking the swelling looks like it's never going down but usually improves throughout the day. Nearly 6 weeks post surgery.
