Incredible Transformation

My fifteen year old daughter recently had rhinoplasty surgery.  The decision to move forward was a big step and I spent hours doing extensive research. I came up with three names, all double board certified, specializing in faces and whose before and after photos were impressive. 

The first surgeon we met has the reputation of being the "nose guy" in Denver and I was quite certain he'd be our man.  When we arrived for the consultation, the first thing we noticed was the tired and dated office, which wasn't concerning because we were there for the surgical skills, not the decor.  Without knowing what to expect from the initial consultation, it felt rushed and impersonal.  I walked out unimpressed and I could tell that my daughter wasn't feeling confident or excited about this option. 

The second consultation was at a sleek, modern office where we met with a polite surgeon who produced a digital image of what he expected the post surgical nose to look like (which my daughter really liked).  We thought maybe we'd met "the one" until I was completely turned off by an offer of a significant discount if we put down a deposit that day. I explained that we still had one more consultation later that week, so I wasn't ready to commit. To introduce that kind of pressure for such an important decision and for a child nonetheless, was really disconcerting to me. Additionally, the practice wouldn't provide us with the digital image that my daughter wanted to take home and show our family - it was against their policy.  (By the way, the other two doctors encouraged us to keep their digitally modeled images). The images were fun and exciting to see, but also ensured that we were on the same page with the surgeon in terms of results.  I learned that some (I'm sure not all) surgeons have their own preferences - ie: some like straighter noses while others prefer more of an upturned nose.  So, it's important that the results you want are a) realistic and b) something that both you and the surgeon agree on.  

Okay, we're finally to the Dr. Weber part. I kinda don't know where to start. I'll say that we were blown away by our first impression when we walked into the gorgeous space and met the very warm and welcoming gal at the front desk. The coordinator was friendly and very knowledgeable. So far, so good. But, during the consultation with Dr. Weber, I was overwhelmed by his genuine care and concern for my daughter. He took his time and listened to her complaints while doing a brief examination.  He responded in a way that was so compassionate and professional, while giving us such confidence in his abilities as a surgeon with his knowledge and experience. The second he walked out the door my daughter and I looked at each other, hugged tightly and cried happy tears.  We knew Dr. Weber was the one and needless to say, the very impressive results speak for themselves. My daughter is overjoyed and her confidence has gone through the roof.  She can live the life that her soul intended without her nose getting in the way.  As she says, "people see me for who I am now - not my nose."  Dr. Weber, our entire family is eternally grateful to you for the life-long gift that you've given to our sweet girl!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!
