Funk facial plastic surgery in Houston for tip bulbous rhinoplasty
Went for a consultation last summer of 2023. When I made my consultation appointment over the phone with Stephanie she asked me for a $225 consultation fee, which can be used towards the surgery. I gave her my cc and was immediately charged. The day of my consultation the doctor didn't give me much information on what needed to be done to my nose. He also mentioned he's not sure how small he can make my tip. (Here is the digital image of the before, and after photo that was given to me). Once my consultation was done, I went to see Stephanie who has been there for 15 years, she's the clerk that takes care of the paper work, payment and scheduling for surgery. Stephanie tells me that I need to make an appointment within ONE week or I will lose my $225 deposit (she failed to bring this up while I was making an appointment for my consultation). I decided not to pursue this doctor because he was charging me $17,500 for a tip rhinoplasty to shrink the bulbous of my nose. I took to RealSelf about my experience as soon as this happened (which I have deleted since last week June 2024) BUT decided to repost again since there is more to this story. Below is my most recent experience with the same doctor, Funk Facial Plastic Surgery
So I decided to see another board-certified doctor that took care of the tip of my nose exactly how I wanted it for a third of the cost. However, because my nose was broken years ago from my first rhinoplasty, I did not realize that my septum became crooked over that period of time, the bulbus of my nose overpowered the aesthetic look so once the bulb was shrunk down you can now see more of my septum deviated. So I called Dr. Funk's office again a year later to see if he can fix my septum. It's Friday, they look me up in their database, they find me and asked me standard questions for 10 minutes, they all of a sudden put me on hold for about 2 minutes, finally came back and said that the power went out (because of a hurricane that came through Houston 3 weeks ago) and they were not able to look up my information anymore to continue (I was literally on the phone for 10 minutes at this time and they were asking me so many questions about my procedure, they knew who I was). She then asked me for my name and number and said she will call me back. I waited all day and got no phone call. It's now Monday, I called and they put me on hold immediately for about five minutes. So I called them back and I go directly to voicemail. It's now Tuesday, I called again and finally got through. They proceeded to tell me that the doctor was not taking any new patients and they will call me when there's an opening. I never heard of this before and for some strange reason I felt that because I had posted my consultation results on RealSelf last year (in which has been deleted as of a few days ago) that perhaps they may have seen it and didn't like reading the facts about their operation. I questioned myself and was wondering if it's possible that they have possibly gotten emotionally hurt over reading what I posted on RealSelf and decided to be mean girls and not accept me as a patient . So I tested this theory and had my boyfriend call them the very next day to schedule consultation. They were free and willing to schedule his consultation and take down his credit card in a heartbeat. I called them as soon as he hung up with them to see if they can take my appointment. But I was given the same runaround. They said they couldn't take me because the doctor wasn't accepting new patients. So I called them out, and said "I just had my boyfriend call you and you were ready and willing to take his appointment and credit card. Why can't you take mine?" They put me on hold for 9 min and proceeded to get someone else on the phone. Once that person came on the phone, Stephanie, I believe, I was given a bogus reason, because I had a consultation with this doctor last year, I was considered a current patient, and they are only taking new patients. Which is a complete contradiction of what I was told. (Sounds like they were running out of excuses). So at this point, I am given the runaround and realize that these girls at Funk plastic surgery office were just butt hurt because I posted facts on RealSelf about their staff and operation. None of what I said was mean, they were just facts. These girls decided to sabotage my possibility of having surgery with this doctor because they didn't like to read the facts and let their emotions gets the best of them. Well, here are more facts to add to their emotions. They lied, they sabotaged, and they were not professional enough to explain what they read on RealSelf so they "red dot"me. "Red Dot" is when the doctors office puts you in a category where they don't want to talk to you and will ignore your phone calls and not schedule your appointments. I felt like I was in a skit of the movie mean girls. I would NOT recommend this doctor to anyone.
