The biggest mistake of my life - he left my columella deformed

I made the biggest mistake of my life getting a rhinoplasty with Dr. Kolstad in 2021. He didn’t properly remove the hump on my nose, and worse, he left my columella deformed. He did not properly stitch my columella back together, leaving a flap of cartilage hanging off my nose, in addition to a grotesque scar. After the initial surgery, he attempted to re-stitch my columella two additional times, leaving it in even worse shape.

By that point (a year later), I no longer wanted him to touch my nose. Upon my last email to the office, in which I asked for compensation due to the undelivered results, Dr. Kolstad “left me on read.” He didn’t even have the decency to respond and say no.

I ended up paying so much more money to address the problems he created. While my new surgeons were able to fix the cartilage flap hanging off my nose, the scar has unfortunately persisted to this day. Three years later, and I am still cleaning up his mess. I am currently seeing a scar specialist and hoping to improve the scar as much as possible. His mistake, which he did not take accountability for, has caused me so much mental anguish.

During my time with Dr. Kolstad’s office, I asked his staff multiple times for my before/after pictures. Each time, they insisted they would send me the photos. They never did.

I did some digging, and found several people on other platforms who had experienced a similar issue with their columellas after their rhinoplasties with Dr. Kolstad. This seems to be a recurring issue with his surgeries.

It took me a long time to finally sit down and write this review. I just want to help anyone who is considering Dr. Kolstad for a rhinoplasty to not make the same mistake I did.
