Beautiful, straight nose that I have always wanted

WORTH IT
I first underwent septorhinoplasty aged 20 as I had inherited my mother’s Roman nose, however I was still left with a bump on my nose which I was self conscious about.
I did some research and after drawing up a shortlist, I decided to seek Mr. Murphy’s professional opinion. I had looked through other past patients’ testimonials of Mr. Murphy’s work (both for rhinoplasty and revision rhinoplasty on Real Self before booking my consultation for 4th October 2022).
Mr. Murphy made me feel at ease and the consultation consisted of having some images taken using the wonderful Vectra 3D camera which allows the patient and Consultant Surgeon to view an indication of the end desired effect. Mr. Murphy was very empathetic and listened intently and asked me questions such as what were my reasons for seeking surgery, how I would like to rectify the issue (remove the bump) and what my expectations were (basically a nice, straight nose). He invited me to ask any questions and then explained that my expectations were reasonable and he was willing and able to perform the procedure.
After discussion with Mr. Murphy’s Secretary Pam, I was able to discuss possible operation dates and was able to choose an appointment for early November 2022.
Following a pre-operative appointment with Mr. Murphy to finalize details and sign the required consent forms, I had a telephone appointment with a Nurse and completed The Spire’s online patient questionnaire.
Both Mr. Murphy and his Consultant Anaesthetist, Mr. Maguire visited me on the day of my operation and both were fantastic and very reassuring. Mr. Murphy later visited me to let me know that the procedure had gone smoothly and following this his colleague, Jacq also visited me to discuss post-operative care. A plastic splint had been applied to my nose along with a dressing to catch any excess blood was placed above my upper lip. Other than a little nausea for a few days I felt absolutely fine. The following week I had an appointment with Jacq where she cleaned up my nose and the splint removed by Jacq a few days later. I had virtually no bruising as the procedure was carried out using an ultrasonic Piezotome.
I later had a Zoom appointment last month with Mr. Murphy and will have a face to face review again in May 2023.
In summary, I now have the beautiful, straight nose that I have always wanted and I am delighted with the result. At The Spire both from Mr. Murphy and his colleagues to the ward staff were truly fabulous all throughout my experience. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr. Murphy to others (I have already recommended him to friends and family members) and feel that this most definitely was money well spent.

As I said in my review I found Mr. Murphy very understanding; he is very knowledgeable and certainly has a lot of experience in his field of work. During my initial consultation there was no pressure to commit to any procedure. I trusted my instincts and I’m glad I did because he has done a wonderful job resculpting my nose. In the meantime, you could always post a query with photo to Mr. Murphy here on RealSelf so that he could advise you.
