Rhinoplasty with Tim Edward’s Was the Worst Decision of my Life
My nose was ok, but it wasn’t a nice feminine shape and moved up my face when I would smile. I had no tip support at all. I decided to see Tim Edward’s as I had other surgery at the same clinic with a different surgeon who was amazing. Boy I wish I could go back in time and never make that decision.
During consultation he was ok. He said he would give me a better nose but didn’t explain much about what he would do.
The day of surgery I didn’t even see him until I was in the operating room. He hardly even said hello before I was under. I wanted to speak with him about what he was going to make my nose look like but there was no chance to.
When I woke up, he never came to visit and let me know how it went. I was ushered out of the hospital within 30m of waking up. The surgery couldn’t have gone for more than an hour as I didn’t go into surgery until 9am and was home by lunchtime.
My recovery was fine, with little to no bruising. Once my cast was off I saw why - he had hardly done abything other than take a huge chunk out of the top of my nose. What was a fairly straight nose before now had a massive dip and then a huge hump, with no support in the tip.
He didn’t show up at the cast removal, one of the nurses removed it. No one even looked inside my nose to make sure there weren’t any internal issues.
At my 6 week follow up appointment he didn’t want to speak to me. He was in the room with me for two mins, brushed off all my concerns and questions, saying he didn’t want to see me again for 9 months as there was nothing he could do until then anyway.
The next 6 months was hell. I was devastated with the way I looked, my depression was bad, I hated sitting and talking next to someone as my side profile was so so bad. I called the clinic and forced them to give me an appointment with Tim. In the appointment he admitted that he stuffed up and said he would give me a revision. He said “I’ll just take some off the bottom of the nose, it will be easy”. This rung alarm bells with me as I had researched revisions and knew they were not easy. He again gave me a whole 4 mins of his time before pushing me out the door, saying come back in 4 months for your revision appointment.
I had PTSD for the next few months worrying about my revision with Dr Edwards. Even though Dr Edward’s was doing the revision for free, I decided that saving the money was not worth it and went to a different surgeon elsewhere. It was the best decision I could have ever made. Whilst I am now tens of thousands of money down, I have a much better looking nose. My new surgeon was kind and friendly and explained everything in detail for over and hour, visited me before the surgery, after the surgery in hospital, visited me the next day in hospital, plus follow up appointments at 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 3 months, 6 months etc. He couldn’t have been more different to Tim Edwards.
Please anyone reading this DO NOT go to Tim Edward’s for a rhinoplasty. It will be the worst mistake you will ever make.
