My Biggest Insecurity, Now One of my Favorite Features!

For years a struggled with an insecurity of my nose. My left nostril had a bump and also a depression, all on one nostril! From years of playing sports my nose was also rather crooked. I used to make sure I was only photographed from my right side or I would sit so people could only see the right side of my face, to hide the imperfections.

I found Dr. Papel as a recommendation from a friend who was happy with her results.

I first met Dr. Papel in February 2021 during our zoom consultation. He was so warm, kind, comforting and friendly, even on zoom. His demeanor really put me at ease. A few weeks later in March 2021 I had my in-person consult where he answered even more of mine (and my mom's) questions. It was during this time that we went over the plan for my nose. He listened to what I wanted done and also made his own suggestions based off of his professional experience. I felt listened to and understood and respected. I could tell he clearly enjoys his work, enjoys talking about the nose and he was eager and happy to share all that he could with me. I felt even more confident after meeting in person and was ready to move ahead with our plan!

My surgery was scheduled for Monday, April 19th 2021. The surgery staff welcomed me, took care of me and kept me at ease. The surgery center is right across the hall from their office, so everything is in one place. Dr. Papel and the staff seemed so confident and ready for my surgery and that really put me at ease. My surgery went great!

I spent the following week resting and recovering based on the detailed instructions from Dr. Papel. I had zero issues post-surgery. My cheeks got very swollen but that was to be expected. I returned to Dr. Papel's office a week following my surgery to remove the splint and stitches. I was absolutely amazed when the splint was removed! I was still swollen but I could already tell I was happier with my "new" nose!

I continue to have follow up appointments with Dr. Papel. Currently (August 18th 2021) I am 4 months out from my surgery and I could not be happier with my results. I am generally a confident person, aside from my "old" nose but my nose insecurity is now completely gone! I can even show off the left side, although sometimes I have to remind myself that it's better now (:

I would 100% recommend Dr. Papel and his staff if you are considering rhinoplasty. I could not have imagined a better experience! And I am SO thrilled with my results and we are only 4 months out. I can't wait to see the final result in another 6-8 months!
