Bad nose job, still regretting it
I needed a tip-plasty for some malrotated cartilage at the tip of my nose that gave my nose a boxy shape at the end. I paid $12,000 and Dr. Delvecchio broke my nose, and I had a lot of pain and bleeding after with 2 black eyes for over a month. I also got an infection around both eyes, perioribital cellulitis. Dr. Delvecchio was out of town and he directed my to go to the hospital for antibiotics. He had a plastic surgery resident see me every day. I was never seen by an attending physician. I demanded an infectious disease consult for antibiotic management. They put me on 3 antibiotics for several weeks. My nose ran constantly for several months. I had facial pain for years. I’m not Jewish but after my nose job everyone kept asking me if I was and still do! I went for consultation. For revision and the doctor that is reputable (and I know someone who had their nose corrected by him) wants $18,000 for revision because he was to take cartilage from my ear to fix the side of my nose that is concave from Dr. Delvecchio taking too much cartilage out. If he had listened to what I wanted my life would when been much different. But he insisted on breaking my nose and doing all these things we never talked about which left my nose concave on one side and convex on the other and left me with a huge hospital bill (another $12,000!) I was too embarrassed to go back. This doctor sucks at nose jobs. Let it be known. Worst decision ever! Stay as far away as you can get!
