Rhinoplasty After (Almost) 3 Years ... 110 Worth It !!
I have always remembered hating my nose, maybe if it was symmetrical I wouldn’t have had as many issues with it but I felt like it just looked so different from all angles lol. I was 19 when I had the money to fix it, I had done a lot of research about surgeons in Michigan and decided that I liked dr. Malhotra @ Ann Arbor Plastic Surgery, so I called to make the consultation appointment. When I called they said they were booking three months out so instead of waiting for my consultation to book the surgery, I just did it over the phone for only a $500 “save the date” fee (that went towards the surgery !!!) so I wouldn’t have to wait another 3 months after the consultation lol. I was totally ready to find another doctor if I didn’t feel comfortable but honestly I loved the experience from the second I walked in the door. Everyone was smiling and attentive, I worked with someone named mina for every appointment up to the surgery and she was so amazing and easy to talk to. Dr. Malhotra listened to all of the problems I felt like I had with my nose and then he told me what he would do to fix it and that’s exactly what he did ! The surgery was about a month after the consultation, I got to the surgery center around 7am and I was back at my house by 1pm the same day. They said I would bruise and swell up but it really wasn’t that bad. The worst thing I remember is my lips got really chapped but if you use a shit ton of chapstick and lip masks I feel like that’s avoidable lol. It took about 2 weeks for the swelling in my face to go down, and that’s when I had to go back in to the office for them to take off the nose guard and pull out the sutures and the stitches. I guess I sort of remember the removal of the sutures being bad. I am absolutely not a fainter (never passed out and only been close to passing out a few times) but when they pulled out the second suture I really thought I was going to lose consciousness lol. They immediately shut off all the lights, gave me an ice pack, and let me lay down though so again great service. I was fine in a few minutes and the rest of the removal of the stitches went great, so that was it with the surgeon !! It took about 2 months for the swelling in my nose to go down to what I thought was going to be the final result but it kept getting smaller and sharper for like a year and a half lol. Like it says in the title it has been almost 3 years since I have gotten it done (I’m getting my breasts done next week by the same doctor so I have been on RealSelf a lot lately lol I thought I would write a review) and I can’t even explain how much of a difference it has made in my confidence level, let alone my physical appearance. I would say it was genuinely one of the best decisions I have ever made !!! If anyone has any questions don’t hesitate to ask (: also just as a disclaimer I have gotten lip and chin filler in the past year so it’s not like a magic nose job (even though my surgeon did work some magic haha) that managed to change my whole face lol there are a few things in play !!
