Everything went right and I would not think that's down to chance

WORTH IT
I'm writing this 5 and a half months post-op.
I saw Dr. Chana three or four months prior to operation for my first consult - he set my nerves at ease immediately. He was focused on finding out exactly what I didn't like about my nose, what I wanted to change, and the extent to which it could logistically be altered. He didn't fob me off, he didn't say he could work miracles - he told me the extent to which things could move. Anything I didn't understand but wanted to, he took the time to draw me a diagram on his iPad and ensure that I got it. His consulting manner was impeccable, and getting to know the realities of my facial constraints was not the dire prospect I thought it might be. I did not bother talking to any other doctors - reading about Mr Chana and scanning his Instagram I had an inkling that he was right for my scenario (big dorsal hump South Asian nose) and talking to him made me feel like he completely understood and was working with being both realistic and making sure I was happy with the aesthetic result.
Skip through to the surgery itself. Hadley Wood was a lovely hospital - my anaesthetist met me in the morning to give me my anti nausea and talk me through things. We started at around 10am and I was out of surgery around 2 and awake and out of ITU around 3pm. Mr Chana stopped by to check on me and show me pictures of my post-surgery nose. After that the main thing was to survive the night. The staff took really good care of me - I made fast friends with the nurses on duty (months later the name Roseanna rings a bell). Couldn't get much sleep due to hospital noises, but was discharged around 9/10am the next morning so took a taxi home.
The first week was not great, but I was out and about probably 2-3 days after surgery. Not doing loads, but just a potter to the grocery shops or a juice out with a friend. The main difficulty was sleeping - because you sleep with your mouth open it gets really dry, I found investing in a humidifier quite helpful. The stents meant I could almost breathe, too. The first week I had a lot of facial swelling, but absolutely no bruising thanks to Mr Chana's ultrasonic tools. I looked like a chipmunk but looking at other accounts of rhinoplasties the bruising takes more time to go whereas I basically looked normal apart from the cast within a week.
Mr Chana's plastics nurse, Freddie, removed my stents a week on - she has a lovely bedside manner and was really enthusiastic and brought a great energy to it (is it weird to bring energy to a surgery? Whatever, she did it). Getting them removed was pretty much everything I dreamed it was going to be over the course of the week leading up to it. I was really going over it in my mind, totally convinced I'd never breathe fully again, but the second she took them out I felt so much better. Not completely clear but a LOT clearer. Now, several months on, I occasionally have a droplet form at the end of my nose when it's cold, but I understand this is to be expected for a little while in recovery anyway. My breathing has never been terrible but it is better than ever.
Improvement has honestly been quite smooth sailing from there onwards - at one month Mr Chana checked on me and gave the tip a cortisone shot to make sure that swelling absolutely went down properly. I had no problems with healing except one time I wore a mask and it left a dent in my nose and I freaked out about it and literally by the time Freddie called me during working hours it was gone.
Though I can only speak from the perspective of having a rhinoplasty, everything went right and I would not think that's down to chance - I can see from other reviews here that Mr Chana's expertise has a great deal of range. I wouldn't hesitate to go to him again for something else if I were considering it.
IN SHORT: I could not be more complimentary of the way they treated me and the job they did. Their bedside manner is incredible, and the trust and confidence their patients have in them is absolutely well earned. Mr Chana and his team are a flawless machine.
