Finally I’ve Done It!
WORTH IT
So I’m going to keep this straight to the point… I’ve always disliked my nose, so I’ve always wanted to do this, I live in England and I was looking for surgeons here.. but never really liked anyones work until I discovered Dr Guncel Ozturk! I was in awe… and I knew that he was the doctor for me even if it meant going abroad for surgery something I had never considered.
2019 I got in touch with Drs Assistant UMUT, I sent photos and they got back to me and said I was suitable… pandemic and all this took over so fast forward 2022, I got in touch in May again, booked all my appointments for June. Bare in mind during this process I messaged Umut here and there keeping in touch, he was so helpful and answered all my questions. Umut your the best!
I did research on location hotel etc and booked my tickets, hotel flight all set to go….!
I flew to Turkey 30th May, did test on the 31st May at hospital, saw Dr Guncel Ozturk on the 1st for consultation at his clinic, here I met Umut (finally nice to have met in person) he took photos and then I met my Doc, can I say my doctor literally knew what I wanted and showed me the 3d pics of what he will achieve… initially I was so worried about that appointment, the worry of how to explain what I want and didn’t want but he knew exactly. Finally my mind was at ease!
I saw my doctor 7am on the 1st for my operation, fell asleep at 8am and woke up at 11am!
Ofcourse the recovery for everyone is different but the care the hospital took was great, they looked after me and my aunt very well.
Dr Guncel Ozturk came to see me after in my ward and we had plans to meet again in 6 days to remove my splints which was booked for the 8th, however due to unforeseen circumstances my doctor was not able to come and see me to remove the splints, so head nurse and Umut met me at the hospital and removed the splints. After which I stayed in Istanbul for another night and then flew back to London. I’m on day 11 today, I will take the bandage off tomor and have some of my nostril stitches removed tomor aswell by a nurse.
I can already tell my nose will be perfect once swelling of down. I have literally no regret. I know I had the best surgeon and team to do for my nose. I’ll upload pictures once fully recovered :-) all the best!
