I just wanted to come and put my experience out there. I feel like if people are considering a rhinoplasty, they should know this info and hopefully my experience can help you narrow down your options on which surgeon to go to.
I decided to get a rhinoplasty by Dr. Mani. During the consultation, I felt like we both had a pretty good understanding of what I wanted. Narrow nose, a little bit of a swoop, dorsal hump gone, smaller tip, narrow nostrils. Only one of these were achieved.
I’m about 5-6 weeks post op and I honestly can’t say I love my nose. When they took my cast off, I “kinda” liked it because it looked narrow in a way just a bit swollen but I honestly believe it was because the cast was keeping my nose in a certain structure. After the cast came off, my nose started look hideous and I started seeing what was really done with my nose. My nostrils looked the exact same as it did before I got the nose job. I don’t even see the incision that people usually get when they get their nostrils reduced aka alarplasty. Dr. Mani told me that the tip would be more refined. I understand that with thick skin, swelling is very obvious but I see very LITTLE refinement. I would even go on to say little to no refinement honestly.
The bridge of my nose looks the exact same as before I got my nose job. Just wider. There’s a part of my skin on the top of my nose that is turning dark/black which I’ve never seen on anyone’s else’s nose that has been done before.
The ONLY difference I see in my nose is that my dorsal hump is gone so when you look at my nose from the side, you’ll see a change I guess. But the tip is super pointy. I hate it.
I feel like Dr. Mani changed my nose the way he wanted it and not the way I wanted it. I haven’t been taking pictures of myself because my nose just stands out more than it did pre-op and it just looks weird. I’ve been super depressed and regretting every single day why I got this procedure done at this practice.
My nose doesn’t even look close to how it looks like on the digital morph they created for me. I had really high hopes just to end up disappointed. I spent almost 11K just to have a new nose, one that I wanted, a nose that would make me look different but in a good way. But I look the exact same but worse.
Considering that I have thick skin, I was expecting for Dr. Mani or for one of his nurses to tell me to start taping. After my cast came off, none of them mentioned taping. I asked Dr. Mani via text if I could start taping and he said yes. That’s literally it. Then I asked if I would have to tape it in a specific way, he said that he would tell the clinic to show me how. This was a week and a half ago. No one has contacted me. Where do I get the tape? Why wasn’t I told to tape on cast removal day knowing that I have thick skin? Why did I have to initiate this conversation as the patient?
I also have very visible scars from the incisions he made since he did an open rhinoplasty. Again, I’m surprised Dr. Mani nor his nurses noticed them. It wasn’t until I mentioned them, that his nurse told me that when I go up front to schedule my next post-op appointment, they’ll tell me which scar cream to use. No one in the front mentioned it to me.
I paid 10K for a wide nose, wide nostrils, unrefined & big tip, wide bridge and to make things 1000 times better, 2 incision scars that won’t fade and a medium sized black spot on my nose that is starting to get darker!! That’s great!
If you’re considering a nose job, please think twice before coming here. Dr. Mani was nice but I believe he gave me a nose that he wanted and didn’t listen to what I wanted. I truly regret getting my nose done here and since then I’ve only cried nonstop about how ugly my nose looks.
