WORTH IT
I can’t believe it’s been 8 months since I’ve been on this website because back then and for many months before I was on this site 20 times a day refreshing it waiting for new reviews to drop, so I am so happy I can hopefully give back and give someone else that lift like many before gave to me.
I had my surgery with Munish in October 2025 and to say it has been one of the best decisions of my life would be an understatement. I’ve never been so happy and content in my life and I know that one decision has certainly expedited my journey to here.
The whole process was more seamless and straightforward than what getting through an airport can feel like at times(and I travel for work). I met Munish twice before the surgery and we immediately hit it off, he was very good fun, super straightforward and extremely direct - there is no beating around the bush with this guy he calls it how it is, he sees it how it is and he can certainty envision how it will all play out with the person and the surgery.
He scrutinised my thoughts, my questions and my answers and to be honest this is exactly what is required, if I had been any bit unsure of my thoughts on getting rhinoplasty I would probably never have gone back to him (win win for him) but I had wanted this surgery since I was 16 and I was 30 at this point, I had never been so sure on anything as I was on this. I also met with the psychologist which is apart of the list of tick box exercises before surgery you must meet with her and get her seal of approval, I thoroughly enjoyed that and found the encounter quite fascinating. For me all of these conversations only reaffirmed my “why” I was never in doubt once in this journey. I felt super safe, seen and in expert hands with Munish.
If you are looking for a Turkey style Barbie nose go to Turkey, this is not a design a body plastic surgery outfit, this is a professional medical practise with an absolute perfectionist that holds the highest regard, rank and status amongst his field. We are privileged to have Munish Shandilya in Ireland.
I had a bump in my nose Munish made it very clear the minimal changes he would be making, I was not going to leave with an indented curve where the bump was, he was going to shave it down to match the rest of my nose get rid of the bump and also raise my tip I had not explicitly noticed or shared any tip concerns but am I glad he did, he also carried out some deviation work that showed up necessary due to the scan, I never went through this process for medical reasons but what a win win that I came out functionally better as a result. I LOVE MY NEW NOSE!!
The whole hospital stay was honestly close to a hotel stay if you ignore the gowns the blue curtains and typical hotel food, I had never been in hospital never had surgery and this whole thing was honestly such a breeze, walk in check in sign a form or 2, wait there move here jump on to the bed and next thing you know it’s all over. Every single person involved in that 24 hours was simply a blessing to this earth kind genuine people who showed so much empathy compassion and professionalism. I had ZERO pain whatsoever ZERO, to be honest I actually found it all very enjoyable (I might have been burned out important to note) but the break from life and work for 2 weeks during this whole process was a nice step back from real life.
The only annoyance was the mouth breathing and the staying relatively upright for a while but I was able to sleep just fine and the days passed on. I was lucky to have a narrow nose so it could handle quite a lot of swelling without looking too bizzare or noticeable but the swelling definitely hung around for a while, first thing in the morning it’s certainly swollen, after a lot of poor drink or food choices it was also swollen, but at the end of the day Munish has not put anything into your nose swelling is just that, it’s a reaction from the bone it will subside eventually, mine certainly has. Sometimes I think all my swelling is gone but as the weeks pass I catch myself noticing my nose at times looking even better and better and little more snatched. Thank you Munish. Nobody that didn’t know I was having this surgery noticed or at least didn’t mention it but yet everyone has complemented how well I am looking for the last few months, whether it’s all physical or perhaps with less insecurity you move through the world with your head held a little higher, it feels good to hear. It also feels good to not need to position yourself so no one sees the bump or god forbid it’s photographed from the side and all the wasted thoughts that consumes.
To the lovely ladies on reception Sarah and Fiona absolute experts both of them always so kind and super understanding. They know what they are talking about and have the whole thing off by heart, at this point I’m sure they could even give the operating room a run for its money. Thank you both.
So to wrap it up I have ZERO regrets Munish was incredible sometimes I even miss his energy and humour now the journey is over, even though I will see him for a review in person soon which I greatly look forward to. The whole experience was so straightforward and the money would have been spent many other places that would never have brought me this happiness that will last long after the money is gone.
Time passes, money comes and goes choose yourself, also I met women through this process that were 30 years older than me having the same surgery for the same reasons so I’m relieved I have this done now, some feelings never go away, one less thing to be ruminating over for the next couple of decades.
