Lip Lift/Scar Revision
UPDATED FROM Ms.Jello

So I've booked my revision surgery...
$4,589
It was a very difficult decision, but I chose to proceed with Dr. Epstein.
I'm scheduled for October 17th, for a "lip lift scar revision".
To be honest, I'm terrified to go through with it because of my first experience, but I really want to revise this widened scar, and Dr. Epstein seemed very confident that he can help me with that, as well as lift the scar a little higher into my nostrils. - But my lip will be shorter.
By the time of my revision surgery in October, I will be about 10 months post op, which I decided is a nice compromise for me... Not too early, but not too long a wait either.
It's also right before winter, so there will be less sun and heat for the next few months.
In the meantime I've already picked up a prescription as a precaution against infection because the first time around I had gotten an infection in one of my nostrils.
I also picked up a prescription against cold sores, since the last few weeks I seem to be getting some little pimple-like bumps popping up on one spot of my scar, and I REALLY can't tell what they are....
Has anyone else experienced this? I am now 7 months post op so I had really hoped that by now my healing would be more predictable.
I am hoping I have all my grounds covered with the antibiotics and I also picked up some probiotics that I can take with the antibiotics to alleviate some of the negative affects they would have on my body.
I still have to tell my family that I've booked the surgery, and I know from previous conversations, that they do not support a revision... so I'm on my own with this, but I know if it is successful (I pray it will be), then it would dramatically improve my happiness and quality of life.
My only concern is what if the scar widens again? I will have no skin left for another revision.
I was told that once done, there should be minimal to no stretching down the road of the scar...
So I'm curious, all you ladies with lip lifts from a year or more ago.... has your scar widened over time?

:( im so sorry
I had revision lip lift with Dr madnani, and you can hardly see my scar it's been 2 weeks,
Hi Kathy, thanks for your post!! That's great... where is Dr. Madnani located?
Would you mind sharing photos with me?
I am putting off my revision for at least another year to ensure my tissue heals well enough before I go cut it again. How long did you wait before revision?

Mine never changed
Thanks for your reply! Good to know...
Hey, how is your scar today? Do you have whatsapp or instagram? Iam feel bad too ;'(
Hi, I had a lift and have same sort of scar like you. I have been thinking of redoing it.
I hope it all goes well! I look forward to seeing your results.
Be positive and it will

I've finished interviewing my doctors...
So I just had my final consult this evening, with Dr. Pearson.... very pleasant man. Took his time answering all my questions and going through the details of what to expect etc.
I was also able to get a hold of Dr. Epstein's office and get a response on my photos... Dr. Epstein and his assistant were apologetic for the wait and have been responsive since, but I've only spoken to him through email.
Both doctors have said they can help me, but my lip will be shorter. I'm starting to get even more scared and paranoid as September approaches and my scar doesn't seem to be improving anymore (still a little red and lumpy). In fact I had a recent pimple/cold sore (I don't even know), on a small portion of my scar... As if I haven't been through enough already!
I'm also terrified to imagine what I will look like with a shorter lip, considering it is already too short! What if the revision doesn't work out?
So many questions and doubts right now.
I've narrowed my choice down to Epstein or Pearson now, as they seemed the most confident that they could help me. I was hoping to book with one of them next week, for surgery in September, but now I'm wondering who to go with and what time frame.... and even if I should.
I would hate to have to live with this scar forever and I will need surgery to close the incisions in the creases of my nostrils anyways... so why not do the whole ugly thing while I'm at it? :(
I'm quite confident that a good doctor could give me a successful surgery and a nice scar, but my family and friends are not as confident and are all asking me to just accept it.
If only we could tell the future... and then rewind time!
I'll post some more updates as they come... but for now, a few more pictures of this scar that is making my life so miserable right now.

I think key is also just to choose the right doc, and do LOTS of research on his/her reviews.... I'll see how I feel in a year or 2.
