I took some pictures to document my before. I'm going to be trying 3 Revision Skin Care products: the C+ Correcting Complex 30%, the Intellishade TruPhysical SPF 45, and the YouthFull lip replenisher.

Here is little about my skin and what I normally use. I am 41 and I have combination, acne prone skin that has tended to be more reactive lately. I use a competing vitamin C serum and I have used sunscreen religiously every day for 20+ years. I normally use Japanese sunscreens for the nice light texture.

My acne is generally under control, but I have been struggling with out of control melasma and age spots lately, including one large spot on my forehead (that I think might actually be burn from past IPL.) So my biggest hope is that the C+ Correcting Complex 30% might turn out to work better than my current brand!

I received this complimentary treatment through the RealSelf Ambassador program.

2 week update

So this is my two week update on some Revision Skin Care products: the C+ Correcting Complex 30%, the Intellishade TruPhysical SPF 45, and the YouthFull lip replenisher.

So far I like the C+ Correcting Complex 30%. It goes on easily and it doesn’t burn or make me break out or anything. It absorbs quickly. It’s easier to use than my normal vitamin C serums that come with in a vial with a dropper and have to be refrigerated. It moisturizes a bit. I can’t tell yet if it’s working, but it’s only been 2 weeks.

I honestly already hate the Intellishade TruPhysical SPF 45. The texture is so gross. It’s like an old bottle of glue. This is what people are talking about when they say they don’t like to wear sunscreen. It goes on streaky and is hard to spread, I feel like I’m wiping it off when I try to blend it in. It never sinks in, it just sits on top of your skin and rubs off on everything (mask, collar, if you touch your face.) Because it never dries, its hard to wear any other makeup over it, even just some powder. It settles into my fine lines and pores. Its also broke me out really badly during the first week. Now I’m exfoliating aggressively to counteract that. It’s also an awful bright orange on me, it is not suitable for fair skinned people, so I would not buy it for that reason alone, but I will continue to use it as my daily sunscreen during this trial period.

I do kind of like the YouthFull lip replenisher. It’s minty, shiny, and very sticky. You don’t want sticky gloss on a windy day at the beach, but sometimes you do want a gloss you don’t have to reapply constantly. It has been working for me as an overnight treatment that I can still feel on my lips in the morning. A lot of times my lips will crack and bleed overnight in the winter, and this is helping prevent that.

4 week update

I’m just posting pics to show my before and after at week 1 vs week 4. I kind of felt like I could see a positive difference in the mirror. But based on these pictures I guess there really hasn’t been any change at all.

I’ll update again in two weeks!
