Lockdown wobbles
mattenna22June 23, 2020
I’ve been shielding due to immunosuppressive medication and this has resulted in too much time looking in the mirror and being sad about my revision results. If only I could go back and not do it. I’m aware my results aren’t awful, but know my bridge is just too low. I long for the straighter profile I had after my primary. Considering fillers as suggested by James but this is only a short term fix which I will have to commit to forever. The whole point of undergoing a surgical rhinoplasty is because I wanted a long term fix without the repeated expense and commitment of fillers.

You are pretty, your tip is perfect! I agree with you on the slope however it doesn’t look that unnatural with your features and def take your time deciding either getting fillers there or having another surgery.

Thank you so much. Lockdown hasn’t helped being stuck in endlessly looking in the mirror and back of photos after my primary rhinoplasty. I feel sad that I had a revision as it was only the tiniest residual lump I wanted rasped down. I get good and bad days, but overall I am unhappy with the low bridge as it isn’t what James and I agreed. He did admit the bridge is lower than he and I would like, but the whole point of having rhinoplasty was so that I didn’t commit myself to a lifetime of fillers, so I really don’t really want to go down that route. The more I research possible complications including blindness, o just don’t think or is worth the risk or lifetime commitment. I appreciate your kind words though.x

You have a bit of inverted v shape. Bella hadid has it and it looks better on you!
It’s hard when you’re stuck home fixated on an issue I hear u.

I've seen ericmjoseph on Instagram posting about his "permanent" liquid rhinoplasty fillers. Maybe check out what Dr. Eric m. Joseph thinks about it. I am not one of his patients but I do believe he specializes in rhinoplasty. Worth a shot. You look cute by the way, but I do see what you are talking about.

Permanent fillers as in Liquid silicone? Are beyond horrible please never put those in you. Anything permanent liquid in the body should be a red line.

Thank you For your comments. . It’s not permanent fillers he has suggested. It’s the temporary ones which only last 6 months to 2 years. X

Yes I know I’m just replying to ebiS who was recommending permanent fillers. Those r so bad so I was just sharing the knowledge, they r near impossible to remove and dissolve and they move. I tried fillers before to my horrid nose, they don’t last long at all and I have some redness from it even after all of it gone so also take that into consideration ! :)

Follow up appointment
mattenna22September 30, 2019
I requested a follow up appointment to express my concerns. Mr Mcdiarmid did agree that there was an area which was about 1mm lower than planned. We discussed what could be done and he said going in for another surgery would be a bit risky and would involve taking a bit of ear cartilage and grafting it in, but I might then end up with it showing through as my skin is thin. I don’t think I want to risk it again anyway as I do kind of regret even going for a revision for a tiny residual bump.
Mr Mcdiarmid then want on to discuss the possibility of using a temporary filler to add the 1mm height needed to get my preferred result. He discussed what this would involve and said I would only have to pay the cost of the filler and not for his time. These fillers can last 3-12 months so would be something that I would have to repeatedly have done. I do appreciate him offering his and it is something for me to think about. A non surgical approach is obviously less risky than a surgical rhinoplasty, but still does carry some risks which I am unsure at this moment in time if I want to go down that route.
I do feel my nose is still settling into its final shape and i am getting used to the more sloped look. It has only been 6 months post revision. I think I’m going to give myself more time to heal and then decide if it bothers me enough to spend more time and money chasing a near perfect result.
I still stand by my initial review and do not regret one bit embarking on this journey. I am still so much more confident than I ever was with my natural shape nose. I would still very much recommend Mr Mcdiarmid and my only advise would be don’t put yourself through a revision if you are almost totally satisfied with your primary rhinoplasty.

I think your nose looks noticeably better in these photos than the ones you posted at 4 months - maybe it does need more time to settle!

Thank you. I do feel it is still settling and changing. Fingers crossed it will continue to improve. Thanks for commenting x

Hi thanks for sharing your story. I’m glad for your advice as my primary rhinoplasty improved my nose over 90% or so, I just have a tiny dent where a bit much cartilage was taken on one side. I’ve also been told fillers will help me if I want to go down that road, but I think if you are mostly satisfied you should leave it as more surgery could make our noses much worse. I think yours looks natural and lovely, like u were born with it, so I would be pleased if I was you.
