He made my nose very long and lumpy

ORIGINAL POST

Stay Away!

Mont001
I had a revision rhino 4 years ago. Not only did Dr. Shah not do what was discussed in morphs but he completely turns you away if your unhappy. He made my nose very long and lumpy. He actually says he thinks it looks great! Everyone I know wants me to go after him for what he did to me, but unfortunately I can only start my journey again to find another revision specialist who can fix me from looking like a Dr. Sues character. Please stay far away from this man... he will ruin your life and give zero remorse. There were red flags all over when he scheduled the surgical room for 2 hours only and charged $4,600. My original primary surgery was 4.5 hours and $8,000. He was also over 3 hours late for the surgery and I feel he rushed. My nose is lumpy to the touch and visually, crooked, I have a horrible uneven tip that is also very hard, my nostrils are crooked and he made corrections we didn’t even discuss. He shaved my bridge so far down and made the tip very masculine. I have a huge scar under my breast where he took rib to graft (where he only offered to treat with a scar laser treatment once during a follow up) and my whole front view of my nose is very long and droopy where the columella touches my upper lip when I talk and smile! He will also make you wait hours in his office for follow ups. He did a in office procedure to fix the asymmetry of my nostrils and raise my columella, but the difference is so slight compared to how drastically it needs to be fixed. I hope this review will help someone else not experience the pain and suffering I’ve been going through for the past 4 years.

He botched me too and I went to this doctor in London and revised my nose. Please PM me.

Hi mine was also botched. Who fixed yours in London and do you have before and after photos? I'm looking for a revision surgeon for a 3rd surgery now

Dr Ion. Shah has a very bad reputation.

Thank you for letting us know. I had a consult with him and the price seemed too good to be true and the office and the entire experience seemed weird. I'm sorry this happened to you.

I wish I had followed my gut initially as well. I had 2 consults with him, because after the first one I was a little put off. But I loved his website results and didn’t no any better. I only needed a revision for the functionality internally and didn’t want to change the physical appearance. He didn't follow his morphs and just did want he wanted in the surgery. The worst part about it is his attitude after surgery. He has a “God” complex and if your not happy it’s like your challenging him in a bad way. I’ve seen two world renowned surgeons to fix me. One won’t touch me because he thinks after what Shah did, I’m lucky to have a nose, and the other wants $24,000 for what he called “major revision”. My life has completely changed since allowing this man to touch me. I wish I would have done my homework and found all the horrible reviews.

Same here. After Shah botched me I went and had a consultation with every doctor in the US. I ended up having a 7 hour revision in London. It cost me $30,000 my husband says that if you include the travelling, tickets, time off work it's close to $45,000. Horrible experience and Im going to be scarred for life!

Note! The doctor from London did a phenomenal job!

I’m so glad to hear you were able to get fixed and be happy with yourself again! I’m starting that painful journey doing my homework now. Can you PM me who your doctor in London was? Thank you!
August 7, 2020
Like I mentioned before, I’ve seen two doctors but one flat out said my nose was to “overly” dissected and it would be like opening up a wasps nest, and the other wanted a lot. In furthering my homework, I found a lot of negative reviews on this other doctor as well and have learned from my experience with shah!

Hello I've had two botched noses jobs and wanted to know who your London doc is? Can you DM his info.?

I feel for you! I had a different doctor (Samir Undavia), but my experience is so similar. Didn't follow the morphs, overpromised and underdelivered, did some techniques that I would have refused if I knew about them in advance, claimed my nose looks great (it's like the doctors all study how to gaslight their patients), depriorotized communication we me to the point he would not answer my emails about serious complications... Oh, and somehow in my patient notes he repeatedly wrote that "patient is happy with results" despite my obvious distress. How is it alright to treat patients so badly and not show any remorse?

So sorry you're in this situation too. Are you going to have a revision?
January 27, 2021
Hello sam325325! Sorry, I just stumbled across your comment in checking my feed. I do plan on having it fixed... I’m so self conscious and have lost any little confidence I did have. I heard amazing things about Dr. Wayne in Oklahoma. I have a consult in may and I’m praying he’s my guy! I’ve already seen 2 other doctors, one of which turned me down saying the damage shah did is irreversible and the other saying the damage was so extensive he wanted 24k! I’m sorry to hear you went through such a similar experience! These doctors that can do this are not human beings... it takes a complete monster to take lives without killing you, because now I walk around as a shadow of the person I was without any remorse on their end.
January 29, 2021
i also don't like my outcome with Dr. Shah. who did you see that turned you away and who wanted 24k? still looking for a revision dr but terrified to look worse
January 30, 2021
Me too! It’s been 4 years now and I’m terrified, but living this way isn’t a life either. Dr. Dean Toriumi in Chicago wanted 24k. After reading horrible reviews, I decided to heed the warnings and keep looking. I had also seen Dr. Richard Davis in Florida who was very nice and honest. He said shah messed me up so bad that he was scared to touch me. I’m so sorry to hear shah hurt you as well. I have a consult with Dr. Wayne in may, and I’ll update on how that consult goes. Fingers crossed!
February 3, 2021
I read somewhere that Dr. Toriumi helped train Dr. Shah, insane that he wanted so much money. Good luck with your consult and yes please update us!! So exciting for you because your worries will all be over so soon :)
February 3, 2021
Thank you! And I will!! Omg that’s scary... I’m glad I decided against Toriumi even more so now! I hope all my worries will be over soon as well, and I can go on living a life. Xo
August 29, 2021
Torumi creates big blocky noses.
February 8, 2021
Did anyone get a revision they're happy with? I'm in a similar situation. Botched revision by shah. Now trying to decide what to do next. Very scared cuz his website looked so good. How to know if I'm choosing wrong again?
February 8, 2021
That’s what makes this process so hard. I fell for his website photos as well, he had so many! The best advice I can give is do your homework! Try to look up as many real reviews as possible. That’s where I dropped the ball with shah... the internet is riddled with horrible reviews on him, and at the time I had no idea. Dr. Richard Davis in Florida is supposed to be amazing. Same with Dr. Ivan Wayne in Oklahoma. I’ll provide updates on my journey as well! We are all in this together :(
February 8, 2021
I set up a consult with Dr Wayne. His work does look good and reviews are good, my only concern with him was it looks like he does the same nose over and over.... but the results are consistent. I'll checkout Dr. Davis. I"m now at the this point where I wish I could go back in time and not have ever had anything done by Dr. Shah.... so it's like do I accept that by traying to make my nose better I made it worse? Or do I keep trying - I'm now terrified of someone f***ing it up even more.
February 9, 2021
That’s my biggest fear as well! That’s why I’ve lived this way for the past four years. I’m just terrified by the thought of it being any worse than it is now. I also live with the fact that I did this to myself and wishing I could go back in time and never have chosen him as my surgeon. All I did was wallow in my own self pity and fear for so long... and the worst part is, my nose keeps changing! In the four years it’s been since my surgery, it continually gets worse! I used to be able to camouflage pretty well with makeup but there are so many dents and lumps now that I just can’t do it anymore. I’m glad you made a consult! The journey has to begin somewhere. Was shah rude with you as well? I’m just curious. I see so many reviews that seem very fake to me because even from my very first consult he seemed very cold and aloof. I should have known better but I figured as long as he was a great surgeon like I originally believed, it’s not like he also needs to win the personality reward. Moving forward, I’ll listen to my initial gut instinct!

Have any of you heard of Dr Regan Thomas? He seems to be an expert known world wide and is located in Chicago. I've been thinking about going to him to at least talk to a doctor about this. I'll probably talk to a few I think it's time for me to talk to a specialist instead of google all the time. For me its been almost 6 years since my primary with Dr Shah. My nose isn't horrible but its lumpy, like he added grafts to my tip that are now visible and there's a dent on my bridge visible in some lighting. Obviously like you guys I'm scared to make it worse
August 29, 2021
Shah is known to add crushed cartilage to the tip. That's what he did to my nose. He dissected the upper part of my nose by taking cartilage. He crushes it and then stuffs it into your tip, creating an illusion of a different structured nose. I went to a world-renowned plastic surgeon from California, and he was so disgusted with Shah's work.

RUN!!!

Mont001
I finally feel comfortable enough to post the horrible horrific result from this man who I can’t even call a human being due to any lack of remorse and the amount of abuse and gas lighting he did to me.

For the better half of nearly a decade, I didn’t want to live most days. It takes a monster to kill someone without actually killing them. Worst yet… he liked his result with the horrible dysfunctional nose he gave me.

During appointments he continued to over inject me with steroids leaving permanent dents that he would later try to refill with dermal fillers (which NEVER belongs in the nose as I have been told by multiple other revision surgeons.) He also did not keep to his morphs, so do not trust him!

I consulted with him twice because the first time he was so cold and domineering in his overall opinion all while looking down at his computer the entire time and not even making eye contact with me. It was obvious he was not listening at all to my aesthetic goals. However, I didn’t listen to my gut, and in the 2nd consult over a year later, his demeanor completely changed. He was pleasant and energetic. He also agreed with me on my goals, I didn’t want to change my nose much. I wanted to still be “me.”

Upon cast removal, I looked nothing like the morphs, and he told me in follow ups I had a horrible nose before and that I was crazy to want to keep it. That the nose he gave me was so much better. Who tells a person that? Someone who was happy as being themselves, living in MY own skin? Did he lie to get my business and only do what he originally wanted? Definitely.

The amount of damage he did had world renowned (yes, I traveled all over the states and beyond) turning me down due to the complexity of damage they would need to fix. I had an inverted v deformity (meaning my nose around the septum was caving in because he shortened my nasal bones), a very low and asymmetrical pointy twisted tip with graft protrusion coming through the skin, crooked nostrils, a hanging columella, and NOTHING natural to my own nose was left behind inside making my case nearly impossible, as well as looking like a plastic surgery monster.

Many ethical surgeons turned me down. I finally found someone, out of state, and had my revision just recently. It has cost me almost $40,000 so far and still counting due to traveling for follow ups to fix Dr. Anil Shah’s under $5,000 surgery.

Follow your gut, listen to the negative reviews… oh and watch out for Instagram doctors! They only post their best outcomes!! Plus my nose did not start looking like something completely devastatingly horrible until about 3 years out! He posts immediately after while his clients are severely swollen and/or are only a year later when it’s known revisions can take years to settle. Everyone is different.

Dr. Shah’s team also threatened me that I signed an NDA to not leave a bad review… an NDA they put in front of me in the surgical prep pre-op room the day of my surgery, and after I was already IV’d and doped up a little to relieve anxiety. If they are asking for any form of non-disclosure agreements… RUN!!! Even if you are about to just go under! I’ll regret this forever! It meant he has obvious issues with many countless unhappy lives ruined and he’s trying to save his false reputation since we are silenced. Abuse happens in silence. I was threatened to take my reviews down or he would take legal action. His team relentlessly hunts negative reviews… my review here wouldn’t even pop up when google searched for years. His team also writes fake reviews (look at Shantel S. on yelp! She goes by the name “Shay” in his office. She is/was his patient care coordinator. She moronically posted her photos, like hello! We all recognize who you are!!! She was my primary contact for years!)

If the price is to good, listen to your inner doubts.. it’s better to find someone who knows what they are doing and pay a lot more than going for a “deal.” It is your face!!! You will solely regret it. The surgeon I found who did my revision fix of Dr. Shah’s work said my surgery was one of the toughest he’s ever encountered (he’s a revision specialist) and he was utterly disgusted by what Shah did while inside my nose. I was told I don’t have anything real left, and unfortunately my nose now is solely rib and ear cartilage grafts because shah took everything out. I’m guessing so that he could speed up the surgery to move on to his next victim. He only did my surgery in an hour and a half. If you took the time to entirely read this review, thank you.

Please, from one broken soul to another human thinking you will build confidence after this choice, I plead with you to find someone else, they’re are so many other ethical doctors. Do your homework, trust your gut, and best of luck!

And they don’t even do the actual result justice.

Please read my updated review below. It is long… but if you are considering this surgeon, please! I wish I had paid more attention to looking more closely at some of the negative reviews prior to ever seeing him (p.s.- he’s had them all removed now.)
