Revision Rhinoplasty/Septoplasty With Dr. Sam Naficy

WORTH IT
I got my primary rhinoplasty done in June 2016 in San Fransisco. I had a large projected nose with an extremely droopy tip. Unfortunately the end result left my nose with a similar shape, just smaller in size. Even though I disliked the outcome, I wasn't in the position at the time to pursue a revision.
My dislike for my nose increased over time, and I've finally decided that now is the time to get a revision with Dr. Naficy in Bellevue. I chose Dr. Naficy not only due to his good reviews, but also because he had a ton of photos of rhinoplasties he's performed on his website.
I had an in-person consultation in June and was very impressed with the staff. My PCC Liz was very welcoming and friendly. I initially met with her and she took my "before" photos and chatted with me about what I'd like done to my nose. I didn't have to wait long for Dr. Naficy to come in and speak with me. He looked at my photos, examined my nose, and listened to the changes that I would like done. Even though the consultation wasn't very long, it didn't feel rushed and I felt like he was actually listening to me. My primary surgeon was very snappy and I felt like he was just rushing to get my consultation over with, so this was a positive change.
The main issues I have with my nose include excessive nostril show, a droopy tip, and uneven flaring of my nostrils. Dr. Naficy agreed that I had excessive nostril show due to alar retraction and a hanging columella as a result of my primary surgery. He also noticed that I had internal nasal valve collapse. I always thought that my breathing wasn't as great as it was before my primary, but I didn't realize how bad it was until Dr. Naficy reached up inside my nose and pulled my walls back.
He showed me photos of a recent patient who had similar issues, and her results were fantastic. Overall I felt really confident in Dr. Naficy. He didn't try to upsell me on other procedures, and he explained that I didn't need as much done as I thought I did.
The quote I received was higher than I was expecting, but I don't think you should choose a surgeon based on price, and I feel like Dr. Naficy is the best choice for my case.
I scheduled a revision rhinoplasty for late August and I'm so excited! I attached some pictures of my current nose, and the renderings that Dr. Naficy did at the consultation. Sorry they're cropped tightly for privacy, but you can see that the majority of the work needs to be done in the tip not the bridge.

Sorry it's taken me a while to update, I've just been taking it easy after surgery! :)
I got my revision done on the 20th. Dr. Naficy performs surgery in-house so fortunately I didn't have to go to a hospital (like I did with my primary). Due to Covid they don't allow anyone else to go in with you, so my hubby had to wait at our hotel.
My nurse escorted me in and I got changed into a comfy robe and socks. We went over paperwork and housekeeping beforehand and then I met with Dr. Naficy. I had sent some additional wish pics and expressed some last-minute cosmetic concerns I had earlier that week. He reviewed them all and was very kind and informative about what he was going to do. Once that was done we took some more before photos before it was time for surgery.
My anesthesiologist Erin was so amazing!! She was so sweet and I had zero issues with the IV or anesthesia.
Dr. Naficy didn't break any bones or have to harvest any ear/rib cartilage - which I was very pleasantly suprised about. As a result I had virtually no bruising which made me super happy because I had shiners for weeks after my primary.
I really like my results so far! I definitely have a lot of swelling but it's honestly not too bad. I can't tell yet if my breathing has improved from my septoplasty because I still have a lot of internal swelling and a ton of vaseline inside for my sutures.
I think my nose is going to turn out pretty cute which is a huge relief. Revisions are so scary, but so far I've been very happy with the results!
Please excuse the vaseline and stitches sticking out of my nose haha :)

Even with the swelling, I can see a big difference, and it already looks good!

Thank you, I'm very pleased so far. The whole process is such a journey and it's a relief having it turn out nicely. I hope you're still healing nicely from your revision and love the results as well :)

I wanted to share a couple side by side comparisons. Today I am 16 days post op. I of course still have a lot of swelling, but it looks so much better already! I hope my tip stays nice and high and doesn't drop too much as I heal. Overall still super happy!

Thanks for sharing additional pictures. At 5-1/2 weeks my tip is still too high, so I'm hoping for the opposite. I think your tip would still look great even if it drops a little. Glad you're happy at this point, and things will only get better as you heal!
