How it works
- Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
- This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
- Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
- Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

Second Revision Rhinoplasty
Dr. Steitz performed my second revision rhinoplasty. I had my first one 20 years ago with another surgeon for my deviated septum and passageway issues. Unfortunately it didn’t hold up and I couldn’t breathe well again. That surgeon then decided to try ear cartilage a few years ago. I had also wanted my bulbous tip done, and was told that was as good as it gets. Dr. Steitz used a rib graft, and I now actually have a bridge to my nose, no bulbous tip, and, more importantly, I can breathe out of both nostrils!
There are just no words to express how impressed I have been with him! I have worked in the medical field for two decades with hundreds of physicians. Dr. Steitz is the entire package. I first discovered him by researching many of the surgeons in the area, and chose to visit Dr. Steitz after reading that he trained with one of the most recognized thought leaders in the country, specifically in rhinoplasty. After consultations with him and a few other surgeons (including the guy with all of the billboards and tons of Realself posts), it was clear that Dr. Steitz was more knowledgeable and experienced when it came to the latest and best techniques, especially with complex issues like revision rhinoplasty. On top of his knowledge and skill, Dr. Steitz has one of the best bedside manners of any physician I’ve ever met! He didn’t talk down to me at all! No question was a dumb question, and he answered each one in detail. He shared more information about the options. He didn’t just provide his opinion, either. He shared information about the actual scientific medical data. I did not feel that he was trying to “up sell” me in the least, unlike a couple of other surgeons. Once he helped me decide on a course of action, Dr. Steitz took his time and set expectations so very well, both for the procedure and the recovery process. Also, it may seem trivial to some, but I loved that he took photos of my nose on the operating table before the surgery and after (before the swelling really sets in). Given how long it can take for the swelling to go down after rhinoplasty, it was so reassuring to see those photos. Also, as far as the elective portions of my procedure, his costs were very reasonable. Be wary that there can be large variances, even in the Midwest. Extra money does not necessarily equate to better skill. It usually equates to just more marketing. FYI: I have written my fair share of reviews, and this is only the second time I have been motivated to write a positive one (for anything). I was not compensated in any way for my review. It’s just my way of hopefully helping others with making such an important decision. Best of luck!
