I decided to get lateral and lower eye lid surgery, under-eye fat repositioning, revision rhinoplasty, fat graft to my nasolabial fold, double chin removal and platysmaplasty, liposuction to my arms, back love handles and bar line, My first rhinoplasty done in another country did not give me the result I wanted so I decided to do a revision.
I chose Girin because it is located in Gangnam, Seoul, Korea, and I was looking for a clinic with reasonable prices and strong expertise.
I chose Girin as I was looking at reasonable prices and expertise. I saw videos and photos of the hospital’s previous patients and liked the results post operation. This can be found on their website and YouTube. Girin is also one of the more reputable hospital and hence, I decided to go along with them.
I decided after an in-person consultation as Dr Han Ji Hyeon, who did my nose, eyes and chin and Dr Doug John Park, who did my liposuction were honest on what they can achieve for my body, based on my skin type, realistic goals and offered their true opinions. They were not pushy. They were genuine and thorough with their assessment. They were so busy in between surgeries and still came to assess me thoroughly.
Blood tests, CT scans, EKG, height, weight, body fat were measured prior to the surgery. They were careful to re-test my blood after a number was alittle out of normal range. They cared about safety.
I also felt reassured because Girin has an anesthesiology director with 30 years of experience staying on-site, which made the whole process feel much safer as well.
Since my Surgery was extensive for myself since I was undergoing a lot of procedures. I stayed overnight at the hospital. From the general anesthetic to surgery. It all went very well.
The whole communication from the team for consultation was clear and prompt. The staff relayed my before photos to the consulting team and gave their honest opinions on procedures. They were not pushy at all. Safety was a big thing for me and they offer CCTV videos if requested.
Recovery was good. I didn’t expect to recover so quickly compared to my previous surgeries! Previous surgery for a SMAS lift, I was swollen for 1 + month! This time, I was only swollen from day 1- day 6 and most swelling was gone at day 7/8 post operation. The surgical scars are small and looked fine. Expect bruising for liposuction. I was careful with the post care instructions, Girin gave a whole list on paper and gave me in-person post operation care instructions prior to the surgery. Excellent care received from pre to post surgery! And this is coming from someone who has been to 2 other plastic clinics.
Girin also provided personalized 1:1 interpretation and customized care in different languages, including English! Support is awesome from the CS Team and English Team!!
I didn’t get all their names but I was only a text away from them on WhatsApp.
I had issues with getting my visa to come to Korea and they sorted it out the same day and sent me documents required from the consulate that day.
Shout out to English team Translators Abeer, Kate, Jenny! They were all amazing and great at communicating my needs and were very interpersonal with their care. The Nurse in blue scrubs and hair tired to pony tail, who removed sutures and changed my dressings, I’m sorry I didn’t get your name, but she was very gentle and careful! Minimal pain experienced!
The doctors Dr Han and Dr Park were skilled and they even reassured me if once I’ve returned to my home country and if I had questions I can always reach out to them again. Genuine and responsible!
